During John McCain’s recent trip to Iraq, Martha Raddatz of ABC News was polling Soldiers as to who they were going to vote for President.

Apparently she had to ask a whole lot of soldiers before she found a handful enough to fit her pre-written story and bias:

Seems a Soldier who was standing behind Raddatz as she queried the soldiers kept count of who answered what:

She (Raddatz) asked 60 GI’s who they planned to vote for in November. 54 said John McCain, 4 for Obama and 2 for Hillary.

You would think that honest journalism would lead with a story about how an overwhelming majority of Soldiers will be voting — as they ALWAYS do — for the Republican candidate.

Nope. That doesn’t fit the media’s narrative. So instead the ABC News report decided to focus instead on:

ABC showed 5 GI’s being asked by Raddatz how they were going to vote in November; 3 for Obama and 2 for Clinton. No mention of the 54 for McCain. Coming from ABC, why am I not surprised!

She might as well have gone to MSNBC and asked, “How many of your political beat reporters would like to blow Barr Obama?” Because then at least they would have gotten a much more honest and accurate proportion of people raising their hand for Barry.

Wow, I only had that story up for a few minutes late last night before I had misgivings and took it down.

It’s totally plausable, and the article I dug up that Raddatz posted at ABC did correspond with Katelyn’s story in terms of the number of Obama supporters, indicated. And there was of course no mention of the 54 McCain supporters.

Still, without more confirmation about “Katelyn”’s story I didn’t feel confident enough to leave it up. Katelyn is basically an anonymous source.

It’s an explosive story, if true. I saved it, and might reword it. I’d certainly like to see that source come forward.

As I wrote in More Media Bias: ‘Reporters Spewing Enemy Talking Points’ On Court’s Gitmo Ruling:, although the key source of the info is anonymous, nonetheless it models the overwhelming bias of ABC in favor of America’s enemy. Furthermore, Newsbusters’ piece - “ABC Finds Soldiers in Iraq Backing Candidates: Obama and Clinton” - appears to back up the info in the our posts (Nice Deb’s, mine, and Urban Grounds’).

Noteworthy is the obvious Obama supporter that went off the deep end over my first post in his coments here.

I agree with Nice Deb- It doesn’t pass the smell test.

Heckuva job…

Officials in Afghanistan say militants have attacked the main prison in the southern city of Kandahar with a car bomb and rockets, killing police and setting nearly all of an estimated 1,150 prisoners free.

People still actually watch ABS?

John McCain should refuse any more interviews on that “network.”

If Preston and Pat both commented on this, then it must be true!

Because they are both always wrong!

What a perfect cartoon for this thread.

Ah yes, hearsay from the ever-reliable news source that is Katelyn.

We’re all laughing at you, you know.

Regardless, if Obama gets in he will demoralize the troops, no one will want to serve under him(my kids are both serving and that is the word), especially if he won’t fund future military programs- the winning edge, shuts down nuke programs, excited to sit with our nations enemies, sees them as no threat.

Obama will get us back in Iraq for his foolishness, and the draft will have to be put in place. Who the hell would want to serve under that white flag? So, liberals’s children will once again have to fight …they will be missing Bush’s stronge unwavering stance against terrorism. Bush knows this country is worth defending and keeping the terrorist on the run. Clinton, he cuddled ____and ignored terrorists, terrorists were bombing us all over the world…they were at war with us…Bush stood up to it.

McCain is a defender who does not like war, he is no coward but at least you know what side he is on.
Obama is just going to put us all on the reservation, with gas prices up and up, and Gore getting richer on his carbon scheme, we will go no where; not even our military.

Pelosi does not even want to maintain our oil reserves…that is total gun control for our military ships, jets. We will be sitting ducks. Welcome to the reservation, the shut down of our nation by the liberals, break the bank to feed you everything only to have no defense or anybody willing to listen to you with these liberal courts who over ride our votes anyway.

Obama is going to be a dictator. His foundation started with William Ayers, an American terrorist who wishes he had bombed more, said in 2001. Obama went to Ayers’ home for a luncheon to get Ayers to start a fundraising campaign of support. The media covered up Ayers and Rev. Wright and Farrahkan when Obama ran for senate. Now the media gives him such a pass, calling it recalibrating so he appears not so extreme.

Obama wants to change America, like it is bad? His church of friends are extreme and he even mocks Jesus on the sermon on the mount. He tells us to change but he lifted no finger to change the hate in his church for 20 long years. His vested hatred alone, I as an American Indian can not vote for any root of hatred. No more trail of tears. Where does he expect us to go, he hates us so?

He is something else, he hid his friends, his name and will not show his birth certificate. He even votes present. He has plans, but he is just waiting to be voted in to reveal himself.

I know in my gut Obama would not pass a FBI clearance with his ties to extremists. But dam he can be voted in by the media hiding the real him. Thank God for radio but they are trying to control that too. so much for free speech and choices.

…Comment on Martha Raddatz - Remember that a reporter’s editors snip and clip. The gatekeepers are always on the job. Martha may have sent home the full story and the Leftie bias at the top may have done their dastardly deed.

How can we reach Martha? We must do that. This is too important to just write it off. Thank you. Ex animo.

Dear all,

This is simply not true. This has been traveling around the internet for about a month now. If you look at some of the postings it comes from a different “friend” on each. It is often has the name MG Buckman (Air Force retired) attached . I have since received an email telling me that MG Buckman is embarrassed that this went viral with his name attached, without checking its veracity. Again, it is not true.

Here was my original response when I first received the chain from a military friend:

I just received your email chain from a friend and I must say I am so saddened by it…..saddened because such a distinguished group was so quick to pass on false internet rumors at the expense of my reputation. As I write this, I am on my 17th trip to Iraq with our US forces. I have spent countless hours reporting on the troops during this conflict, and also spend a good deal of my personal time with the wounded and US military families when I am back home. I wrote a book last year, “The Long Road Home” about the battle of Sadr City which was praised as non-political and a tribute to our forces. And yet this internet rumor has gone viral precisely because people in your group and others pass this rumor onto others. The story that was supposedly told by “Katelyn” is simply not true. First…she must have a hundred aunts and uncles because whoever is forwarding it usually claims to be a close friend of one of them. I never went on a trip with John McCain…and I certainly didn’t interview 60 soldiers about who they are voting for. These attacks on me started because of a story that aired after a visit I took in March to Balad air base with Vice President Cheney. I followed him down a rope line and was surprised to see how many of the military personnel (largely Air Force) said they supported Barack Obama. I did not talk to many more than a dozen service members.I was with the VP and had no time! There were, of course McCain supporters and Clinton supporters, as well…which I mentioned in the story. But this was not a poll. It was simply surprising that that so many came forward to voice support for a candidate who is advocating withdrawal, just moments after cheering for the vice president. So if there is in fact a “Katelyn” she is making this up. Not only that, she could not possibly have heard me in the noisy crowd. If you would like to check my integrity with some high ranking active duty officers please feel free to do so. And, please, if any of you actually knows retired MG Buckman, please pass on his email address and this email so I can let him know what he has started. I assume he would not want this to continue or have any role in it.

Please feel free to share this email. Thanks so much for understanding how important my bond with the troops is and how important I feel it is to cover the amazing job they do on a daily basis.
