I just received the following email:

Robbie

My name is Hayden Pruett and I am handling Special Press Operations for the 2008 Republican National Convention. We were wondering if you would like to send someone from your blog, Robbie Cooper—Urban Grounds, to cover the Convention. Please let me know as soon as possible if this is something in which you might be interested, as we are planning to release our final approved Special Press list very soon.

Thank you,

2008 Republican National Convention

I would really love to be able to attend as a credentialed blogger — but I already have a week long vacation planned to D.C. a month later (my wife is running in the Army 10-Miler in October).

I don’t imagine that the convention itself will be all that exciting — unless of course McCain waits until then to announce his selection for VP. But I’m guessing the unhinged leftwing moonbats who will be on parade will be quite entertaining, if not a bit scary (Robbie runs off to check if Minnesota has reciprocity with Texas for concealed handgun licenses — yes, my concealed handgun license is valid in Minnesota).

Nah, even the prospect of getting to target shoot wild moonbats probably isn’t enough to justify the extra time off from work.

  1. Democratic Congress now more popular with Republicans than democrats

The FISA “compromise” will doom the Blue Dog democrats, with evntually ushering in a new majority liberal coalition. The GOP is toast for at least a generation.

  2. *snort**chuckle*
