Why would Jennie Hoff stat the DPS was charged with tracking down Arsonist in the state of Texas? This is so factually WRONG. The State Fire Marshal and his Deputies are charged with Fire and Arson Investigations in this great state. Not DPS nor any other state agency. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has less than 20 fire investigators in the whole state. Why don’t you do a story on them, to help them get more personnel and man power, so arson can be seriously fought in Texas by the state agency charged with the responsibility. Not DPS or ATF. The fire at the Manson was not even a federal crime. Why was ATF requested anyway? Makes one wonder how much taxpayer money the government wasted on an “ATF Arson Response Team” who was not even needed to help determine the cause of the fire. The cause was very obvious from video tape. Who made the request for the ATF Arson Response Team anyway? That may be another story you want to dive off into and inform the taxpayers how much of their money was wasted by the federal government.

I'm thinking "inside job", a. possibly to distract from a sagging political career, b. a way to cast aspersions on detractors, c. to install more surveillance cameras around the city, d. get new "digs" further away from the 11th St. bus stop, or e. all of the above.

I agree....set them on fire, but don't tell them you'll put them out before it kills them.
If you kill them, they won't LEARN anything.

This is a terribly heinous crime......

Actually, just secure them to a post (or fence) in cuffs, in their underwear, on the front lawn of the Gov. Mansion, and let the public administer their punishment.
I, also, cannot help think about the fact that the TX Democrats were having their convention the same weekend.

Awhile back some idiots set fire to the Bryan TX Library.
Fortunately the damage was nowhere near as bad as it could have been.
The librarian couldn't comment on the suggestion I had cause the case was ongoing against the idiots, but she did like the idea of them being tied up in public, in their underwear, and letting everybody with a library card give them paper cuts....and spray bottles of rubbing alcohol would be available for further entertainment !
LOL

I hope that whoever did this, spends their last hours on earth with explosive diarrhea, a brain tumor, a goiter, and chigger bites on 90% of their body.

Dang! I was just hoping they would get to spend a long, long time in TDCJ being Bubba or Bubbette's girlfriend!

Really, it's a bit early to bring the Democrats into a conspiracy theory.

But on the other hand, the Democrats have been having a lot of fun with all kinds of wacky conspiracy stories. They love to sit around the campfire and tell these crazy stories, each one more wacky and silly than the last.

Why shouldn't we Republithugs have a little of this kind of fun also?

I agree with BBB, I hope that when the law of Texas is done with this miscreant, that the Good Lord will add his punishment.
This wonderful old Greek Revival structure is like an old friend, and has witnessed history and people continuously since 1856. It should also be a connection to the future for all Texans.
I hope that whoever did this, spends their last hours on earth with explosive diarrhea, a brain tumor, a goiter, and chigger bites on 90% of their body.

This isn't about Rick Perry or George W. Bush any more than it is about Ann Richards or Mark White!

Whether you are a conservative, liberal, Republican or Democrat; whoever did this messed with all of us Texans!

And I hope Texas justice is very, very hard on them!

While I'm disappointed at the tragic loss of a historic building, I must say - Gov. Perry isn't particularly popular with conservatives either. Hell, you've got landowners in this state ready to take up arms to fight for the land they're losing to the Trans-Texas Corridor. Land that has been in their families since the time of the Alamo. You don't have to be a liberal to be dissatisfied with the praetorian shenanigans of our Governor.

[Editor --- Good point, Jennifer, about a lot of conservatives being a big pissed at Gov. Perry, too.

I'm a big fan of Rick...more for the good and decent man that he is than for some of his politics.]
