I just registered for the Defending the American Dream Summit being held here in Austin on July 18 and 19.
The Summit is being hosted by Americans for Prosperity and RightOnline.
For years, the left have been building a superior online political infrastructure, cultivating a powerful online community of activists, dominating the blogosphere, and leaving conservatives at a severe disadvantage in a web 2.0 world.
For conservatives tired of being left behind, we invite you to RightOnline. Join leading conservative bloggers and new media experts, America’s foremost experts in grassroots mobilization, representatives from influential conservative organizations, and hundreds of citizen activists this July 18th and 19th in Austin, Texas.
Guest speakers and presenters include:
- Michelle Malkin — the woman most reviled and demonized by the Left, perhaps more so than even Ann Coulter, which makes her one of the most widely read and admired bloggers and political pundits on the Right.
- Michael Steele — Former Maryland Lt. Governor —labeled a “Sambo” by leaders in the Democrat party for having the temerity to be 1) black, and 2) Conservative.
- Bob Barr — Libertarian Presidential Candidate
- Robert Novak — Syndicated Columnist who wrote the infamous column “outing” Valerie Plame.
- John Fund and Stephen Moore from The Wall Street Journal
I’m excited about the opportunity to meet so many of my fellow conservative bloggers and do a little face-to-face networking — it gets lonely here in liberal Austin.
If you plan on being in Austin for the summit, let me know. I’ll buy you a beer and recommend some must eat places.
I’m also excited that we will in effect be countering the YearlyKos Nutroots Nation convention , which is being held this year in Austin on the same weekend.
_______
The Nutrooters will be downtown, where they’ll be closer to the bars (and the city jail). The Conservatives will be at the Arboretum.
Downtown’s a little closer to my house in West Austin, but the Arboretum is quicker and easier to get to (still only about 9 miles away).
Downtown really is a better location than the Arboretum. However, since the Conservative convetion is less likely to devolve into a bunch of kids getting drunk and angry, I guess the proximity to the downtown bar scene probably isn’t quite as important.
Though I would have liked to have been closer to the nutroots crazies.
Just to point, laugh, mock, and perhaps engage in a little agitating. Like right-across-the-street closer.
I’ll probably make it downtown for a little of that anyway. At least on Thursday night when the Kos Kiddies start showing up — I guess their convention can start on a typical work day since most of their attendees are 1) employed by left-leaning news organizations, 2) professional activists (thanks Daddy Soros!), or 3) unemployed college kids on their summer break.
Maybe I’ll get lucky and run into Ezra Klein or John Avarosis — the Left’s poster boys for Effete Urban Queerbaits. Though in a crowd of Kos Kiddies, picking out the effete urban queerbaits from the not-so-effete angry feminists isn’t always so easy.

Just for the record…not everyone on the left is an effeminate wuss. Just like not everyone on the right is a bigoted loudmouth asshole compensating for a tiny penis.
[Editor --- What is it about men on the left and comparing penis sizes? Do lots of that do you?]
