Steven Colbert is a comedic genius. Of course, his shtick is most often directed at making fun of Conservatives and Republicans — so it’s nice to see him turn it on Libs every so often.
Like this — Colbert going after Carl Pope, president of the radical environmentalist lobby Sierra Club.
One of the damned-funniest things I’ve seen in a long time — literally made me laugh out loud:

If that’s the number of members in Sierra Club? Then that’s just portion of them.
The tree-freaks at Berkley? Them too. Everybody who watched an inconvenient truth and believed that shit? Them too.
Environmentalist radicals? What exactly about them is so radical? Oh, right…they tend to support democratic candidates. What a bunch of nutjobs.
Animal Liberation Front, or hell even Greenpeace…there’s some whackjobs for you.

Apparently Comedy Central lawyers are always checking, as one guy in Europe had a big go round with their lawyers over what’s his name on the Daily Show, for downloading a clip from his show.
I don’t know how many actual enviro-whackjobs there are, but there are certainly a lot of useful idiots, as shown by Penn and Teller.
Our planet faces huge problems that may, or may not be reversible. Why then, would Steven spend the entire interview mocking Carl Pope? He could have, at least, allowed him to get some of his message across. Why did he even have him on his show? Maybe Steven thinks something like Gay Marriage is a larger, world wide problem that the planet. I have watched my last Colbert Report!
Classic. Especially the polar bear saying “I will feast upon your flesh.” Which is true. No predator in the wild has less fear of human beings than polar bears. For their population, and limited contact with humans, they have killed and eaten a disproportionate amount of people. If they were made extinct, the world would be safer. Not just for us, but for seals as well (although seals still have to deal with orcas and sharks).
