Gotta love the unbiased headline writing going on at the Houston Chronicle — try not to let your Liberal bias shine through too much, fellas.

What am I talking about? How is this headline in today’s Chronicle anything other than a campaign ad for State Rep. Rick Noriega (D)?

Bias at the Chronicle

Effectively, the Chronicle is pimping campaign donations for Rick Noriega, who is trying (desperately) to unseat the very popular Sen. John Cornyn (R).

Because to me it sure looks like the Chronicle is asking its readers to send some campaign donation love Noriega’s way…

  1. I would expect no less from the Comical.

  2. Like Pam said, what do you expect from the Comical.

Two little interesting notes from the article:

Almost half of the $930,000 that Noriega raised in the quarter ending June 30 came from the national Democratic Web site ActBlue. The Daily Kos, a left-leaning Web site that has been supportive of Noriega from the start, called his recent fundraising “a disappointing take.”

The biggest prize for Noriega would be the support of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which can funnel millions of dollars into a state in support of candidates. That is why Noriega spent part of last week visiting with committee Chairman U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

No matter what his background is or what his stance on the issues are, the fact he is supported by the Kos Kiddies and is actively seeking the support of Schumer and Reid speaks volumes about his true character.

  3. You interpreted that article far differently than we did. We were left with the impression that the Chronicle was writing off Noriega’s campaign as a losing cause.

  4. Houston Chronicle Puts Fundraising Appeal For Noriega In Breaking News…

But we certainly wouldn’t call it media bias. Here’s the headline. Democrat Noriega needs help cutting Cornyn’s 10-1 lead in cash That is also what shows up on the Houston & Texas nes page, and in the title bar at……

I can’t find that anywhere on their front page online now…….
Perhaps they got enough complaints because it was blatantly a campaign ad , and the Chronicle took it off .

Or maybe someone actually got their butt in trouble for posting it.
    One can hope.
