End of a Long Day
I’m finally home from the first day of the Defending the American Dream Summit — and what a great day it was.
Particularly for the outstanding networking opportunities. Finally got to put a lot of faces to names for bloggers who I like to read and some politicians that I admire.
Folks like Barry Goldwater Jr:
Mr. Goldwater is pretty much a rock star amongst Conservatives.
Galveston County Tax Assessor Collector Cheryl Johnson (one of the very coolest politicians you will ever meet):
I missed her session on how to properly and effectively protest your property tax appraisal (how’s that for public service?)
And of course one of my favorite Texas bloggers, Dr. Melissa Clouthier (and her non-political blogging husband, Steve):
Also got to meet John Hawkins of Right Wing News, Pam from Austin Kafir, and Laura Elizabeth Morales.
Also spent about an hour after the speech by Robert Novak (which totally kicked ass, and I’ll write more about it in the morning) talking to Terry Reid, who worked in the White House for the Reagan administration. I’m going to help her straighten out her Facebook page tomorrow.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Michelle Malkin tomorrow — and a few others, like former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele.

Dang!
Barry Jr. was there?
I am amazed at how much Barry Jr. and Mr. Clouthier resemble each other.
As for the others, that’s a stellar cast of conservatives. Inspiring to know they are all gathering there for this event.
Looks like fun, glad to see the right-o-sphere moving along!
It was great meeting you this weekend Robbie! I have linked your blog to mine. I just placed an introductory post, but tomorrow will be looking at adding the real content. You have some great stuff on your blog, I started reading it last night.
Again, it was great meeting you and hope to keep in touch! It’s time to give these lefty wingnuts a solid right hook.
