Barry Insulted on Behalf of American Muslims

The New Yorker Obama Cover

So Barry Obama thinks that the New Yorker cover (surely you’ve seen it by now) is an “insult to American Muslims”.

Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday that the New Yorker magazine’s satirical cover depicting him and his wife as flag-burning, fist-bumping radicals doesn’t bother him but that it was an insult to Muslim Americans.

First off, Barry, you’re a liar. It does bother you. A lot. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a politician with thinner (albeit beautiful light brown in color — almost a creamy mocha latte) skin.

The cartoon cover depicts the Obama’s standing in the Oval Office doing their infamous terrorist fist bump.

Obama is dressed in his traditional Muslim garb (much like he actually is in this real photograph), while Michelle is dressed as an Ak-47 toting Pam Greer.

So, how does Barry know that it insults American Muslims?

Of course the easy target is “because he is one.” Or was one. Or would like to be one. But getting much closer to the truth is because he has a lot of Muslim friends. A lot of Muslim friends. And some very close ties to the Nation of Islam. There is no doubt that these folks have the ear of one Barry Hussein Obama.

Besides — the cartoon is obviously satire.

  • If it were intended to be actual criticism of Barry, then the photo would not have had the US Flag burning in the fire place. Instead, it would have illustrated Barry’s BFF and unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers doing a Mexican Hat Dance all over the flag.
  • And there is no way that Barry would have a portrait of Osama over the fireplace (he keeps one in his wallet though, allegedly). Barry’s first order of business upon moving into the Oval Office would be to hang a 10′ x 15′ portrait of himself.
  • Michelle would not be carrying an AK-47 in an Obama Presidency. As everyone knows that one of Barry’s first executive orders would be to ban all semi-automatic weapons in this country. Now if the image would have had Michelle toting a shotgun or a revolver…that would be somewhat more accurate. Something more akin to this:

Michelle Obama or Pam Greer

I would argue that American Muslims aren’t that upset or insulted by it. You know how I know? Nobody has had their head cut off (or threatened to be cut off) over it yet. The offices of the New Yorker have not been bombed or threatened with a bomb.

If Muslims were truly insulted by the image, you can bet your ass they would have let us know about it by now. They wouldn’t need Barry to mouth their faux outrage for them.

Maureen Dowd:

Flash forward to the kerfuffle — and Obama’s icy reaction — over this week’s New Yorker cover parodying fears about the Obamas.

“We’ve already scratched thrift, candor and brevity off the list of virtues in this presidential cycle, so why not eliminate humor, too?” wrote James Rainey in The Los Angeles Times, suggesting “an irony deficiency” in Obama and his fans.

Stop the ACLU:

Everything is an insult in Liberal World, every jab a personal offense, every joke now causing victimhood. I’ve been saying for years that these folks on the left have no humor, and this does not change my mind, as Obama plays the victim card. It’s no wonder those in the humor business are having trouble finding a joke, much less a punch line.

Red State:

Obama later goes on to say that “he’s developed ‘a pretty thick skin’ running for president.” Given the way that the fellow seems to run away, at full speed and genteelly screaming, from even the hint of a suggestion of a possibility of a whisper that he might be secretly a Muslim… well. I suppose that he thinks that he has, and that’s the important thing, right?

Glenn Reynolds:

Obama is humorless, and full of himself. That would make him a great target for satire, except that his followers take the position that any mockery or criticism is racist. The prospect of four years of that sort of thing is the best reason I can think of not to vote for him.

  1. Along with the muslim women kicked off stage, this report is very telling of his campaign.
Obama Steers Clear of Michigan Muslims He May Need to Win State.
He has shunned his mother, thrown his grandmother under the bus, along with too many to list, and he is disavowing his Mohammedan roots.
If anyone considers him a friend, they best not ever turn their back to him, or allow him to pat them on the back.

  2. I’ve been arguing with some of my fellow Obama supporters about this for a few days now. Obviously the cover is meant to lampoon the perception of Obama that the far-right has and to point out how ridiculous it is.

Also, Robbie, in the course of the argument, I referred to the “niggardly” fiasco many years ago, and was actually told that “despite what it says in Webster’s” that “niggardly” is an offensive word.

It made me want to shoot myself in the face.

[Editor --- Agreed. by the same logic, you and I should be offended anytime a waitress offers us crackers with our soup.

People have the right of free speech. There is not a right not to be offended by it.]

  3. Just a question – has anyone seen any Nation of Islam idiots being spotted near him at his rallies? It won’t surprise me a bit to see them if he is elected. *shudder*

  4. Robbie: I am personally offended any time someone tells me they “honked” their horn.

No shit- it’s been obvious for a generation that the prevailing ideological motivation for “conservatives” is to support anything that makes liberals angry. It’s like having a national party run by toddlers.

It may be like it, but with the liberals, it is the real deal.

  7. Thanks for proving Preston completely right, N2l.

  9. His deliberate lack of transparency is troubling – we do not know who he will surround himself with.

If he were smart, he would do something completely goofy , like throw up on Gen Petraus while in Iraq, or something along those lines, to give comics (and the rest of us) a reason to laugh at him.

We won’t be laughing if he gets elected and starts shrinking our paychecks in pursuit of a nanny stste.

The Pam Grier pic is awesome!

  10. the full quote…
“You know, there are wonderful Muslim Americans all across the country who are doing wonderful things,” the presidential candidate told CNN’s Larry King. “And for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it’s not what America’s all about.”

so yeah i think it is insulting to muslims. so what if obama were muslim. is that a bad thing? the fact that people have a problem with a muslim running for prez IS insulting. get it now? it like what if they were saying he were a secret ‘white writer/blogger’! and everyone was freaking out over it, like it was a bad thing.

BTW obama isnt a muslim. and never has been. and didnt take his oath of office on a koran.

Insulting a muslim is easier than making a teenager depressed, they belong to the Religion Of The Perpetually Offended. Too me, and many, that is a bad thing, and I’m personally pleased you are insulted by my, and many others, issue with a muslim running for CINC.
B-HO, besides being the first biracial candidate to call himself black, is the only presidential candidate to ever recite the opening lines to the call to prayer(the adhan) in a flawless Arabic accent to a NYSlimes reporter. Yes, I have a very big problem with that, but mostly my problem is with the pathetic, contradictory, and violent tome taken from the words of the epileptic pedophile known as Mohammed.
The Religion of Peace, by my firm and ample arse.

  12. n2l, well i’m pleased that youre pleased. so there!

so what if he were raised in canada and could recite the canadien national anthem in french or something? big deal. youre the one who is easy to offend.

as for his calling himself black? read his book for more info but…”I’m not sure I decided it,” he said last year on “60 Minutes.” “I think, you know, if you look African-American in this society, you’re treated as an African-American.

    just relax. think things through.
    or dont, either way.

  13. just relax. think things through.
    or dont, either way.

Do you follow the advise you so freely give?
So what if he was raised in Mordur and purple frogs shoot out of his butt? There are all sorts of hypotheticals you could chose, but the fact remains he is muslim by birth, has actively practiced the faith at a point in his life, has been affiliated with a hate-filled racist church led, until recently, by a former member of the Nation of Islam, and he currently has NOI members working on his Senate staff in DC and Chicago, as well as on his election campaign.
I know it’s difficult for liberals to recall, but just a reminder, civilization is at war with radical islam, and the last thing we need is a stealth muslim as President, who is a radical Marxist.
As for calling himself a black candidate, he can call himself whatever he wants…I do! The fact remains he is the child of a caucasian mother, and a negroe father, which makes him biracial, or if you prefer, a mestizo, or a mulatto, but he is not a Black American, unless you still subscribe to the old Democrat Jim Crow Laws, which say that all one needs is “one drop of negroe blood” to be considered black.
