I came across this wonderful woman’s story by chance, the other day, and am finally able to give her the attention she so richly deserves.

Her name is Keela Carr, and this is who she is, and what she has done.

My name is Keela Carr and I AM an American; a proud daughter of my fore fathers; a grateful recipient of the precious gift of freedom.

In striving to demonstrate my appreciation for our troops, I will begin “The Journey of A Thousand Thanks.”

Towards the end of May 2008, I will set out on foot on a 2,700 mile cross country adventure departing from Ft. Irwin California and culminating near our nation’s Capitol at the hallowed grounds Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. As I travel, it will be my privilege to meet, shake the hands of, and personally thank 1,000 (or more) individual members of our armed services. In addition, I plan to raise funds for our wounded soldiers.

Now more than ever before, we must be diligent in our loyalty and gratitude toward those who have unwaveringly stood and fought any foe that has come to threaten the freedom that we hold so dear. May we ever be grateful for men like Lt. Lei Tanahasi, and Nick Garcia; for the gracious forfeit of the more than 16,000 single mothers who serve even now; for the Tuskegee Airmen; for the nurses whose hands have comforted when mothers’ arms were far out of reach; for the men of our Special Forces: active duty, retired, disabled or otherwise, as we are ever in your debt and we thank you for Leading the Way. Finally, may we be thankful to our fallen countrymen who have given more than should be asked so that we would never have to…we will never forget the humility, respect and selflessness with which you served.

After approximately six million steps, and seventy five days, she made it yesterday. She laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery, and presented a quilt, made by wives of WWII veterans, to a severely injured soldier at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

There are some short videos of her inspiring journey available, and I hope soon, there will be more.
Ms. Carr’s selfless act of appreciation has been acknowledged by our military, as well, as she is to receive the U.S. Army’s Freedom Team Salute Program’s 500th Volunteer Ambassador award, complete with a certificate and a letter signed by the Secretary of the Army, Peter Geren and Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey.

Here is her video interview on the most watched cable news service.

I can only humbly say how much I appreciate this wonderful woman’s effort. She is an inspiration, and an example of the type of American citizen that respects and understands what is needed to guarantee this nation remains free and strong.

God Bless You, Keela. My thanks are inadequate.

Glad to finally know you.

Such misguided efforts.

You don’t realise that you guys could have stayed at home and fort this ‘enemy’ you speak of.
The 4000+ troops you fuck ants sent to Iraq would have been alive today if you would have acted on intelligence rather that redneck rage.

You simply don’t get it. ‘The Enemy’ you speak of is an enemy because you made it one. If you wouldn’t have had a presence in Saudi for the past ten years, these extremist pricks wouldn’t have an enemy to fight. But no, the US know best. We’ll send 4000 into death for the sake of being patriotic! Bullshit!
You should be fucking ashamed of yourselves.

So when we get dumb wits doing these charity runs/walks/climbs/fuck ups for the sake of those slane, it makes me fucking laugh. Get rid of your shit ass republican feel good redneck ass holes from the white house and put a government in power that actually care for you guys.

You’d have no enemy if you’d stayed at home and got on with you lives. But no. You know best - so you deserve to reap what you sow.

Fuck wits.

Ahh, jonny, your back. All 6′4″ inches of you, you big strong man. I thought you were on the way over here to knock out some rednecks. I guess you could not tear your self away from your brothers penis long enough to catch a train over here. I am truly sorry over how emasculated your country has become, I suppose I would not have much pride left if my country’s GDP was less than that of france’s. But hey, you still have 4000 citizens more than we. You know something you dumb motherfucker? Our entire bill of rights and entire constitution were designed to address the tyranny and shortcomings of the english masters. You live it, we don’t have to. If you were ever to come to Texas, I would not threaten you, would not ‘knock you out’ not try to impress you with my 6′4″, all things free people could care less about, but rather I would take you around, introduce you to members of our citizen soldiers, soldiers that are educated in a system that was expressly designed in order to avoid tyranny through public knowledge. Then maybe we could go shoot at a gravel pit. I mean real guns, carried openly and freely by free men. Then we could go see what 4.5% employment looks like, something not seen in europe. Never mind the beautiful women of Texas who still prefer men who are willing to protect them, their country and their children. Then I would invite you into my home for a beer and then let you go and make up your mind about ‘rednecks’ (eurotrash euphemism for freeman). While your ego demands some feeling of superiority over something, perhaps anything, we, as free men, do not have to have that in our lives. now, go fuck yourself.

Just like a drunken pommie, to try and impose his failed sense of duty on others, who display remarkable determination in accomplishing a goal they deem important.
Just compare and contrast the high quality of person Keela Carr is, and the low quality of the Lil Smarmy Pommie.
The difference tells it all, and elevates her, her efforts, and the service of the men and women she was thanking.

Sorry, you’re both right.
We should be proud of the American soldiers and we should be walking around the world on our fingers to prove it.
Here’s why I’m gonna leave work tomorrow and spend the rest of my days supporting American troops:

Proud 1

Proud 2

Proud 3

Proud 4

And SO proud of our own UK Army

Get real!

Jonny

Sorry, you guys are right. Pass me a bottle of that extra strength redneck-patriotism-juice while we tell each other how proud we are:

Oh, I’m so proud

Some one pass me a tissue, I got tears here!

I can hardly contain my patriotism anymore!

Maybe I could get all patriotic about the British Army as well?

There we go! God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen……..

Bullshit!

Jonny

Got something you want to say?
