Rep. John Culberson (R-TX — and my absolute favorite politician now) is twittering live again today, and will be doing so live (again) from the House floor.
Why?
Because it’s a story the Media won’t cover. From Rep. Culberson’s Twitter feed last night:
Utterly & blindly biased old media DCpress corps will not tell you these things. I will happily help new media absorb & eliminate old media
Hmmm…that’s the second time I’ve head someone talk about the new Social Media absorbing and replacing the old media (the first time was from a DC-based network news cameraman).
And what “things” was Rep. Culberson referring to? Stuff like the fact that the Dems are pulling a trick in the Senate to prevent the President from calling a Special session to vote on “Drill here. Drill Now.”
More from Culberson’s feed:
I will be back on House floor tomorrow at 10 am with others asking the Speaker to call the House back for a vote to drill here drill now!
We would ask the Pres to call Congress into special session but the Senate used a sneaky trick to prevent this – they are still in session
Senate is in “pro forma session” for 5 minutes every day all summer to stop the Pres from calling a special session to drill here drill now
Uh huh. And it’s the GOP who are obstructionist. </sarcasm>

From Nancy at The Jackalope’s Voice:
August 1, 2008, Speaker Pelosi thought she could send the House of Representatives home for adjournment without a vote, or even debate, on solving the Energy Crisis. She turned off the lights, cameras, and microphones. She emptied the Press Gallery thinking the story was over.
Thanks to Rep. John Culberson and Real Time News, she thought wrong.
