Election 2008

Hillary at the DNC — Live Blogging

9:44 — Bill looks genuinely moved as Hillary is introduced and cheered. Seriously.

9:45 — “Proud” is the theme. Most likely to take some slack off Michelle Obama, whose just become proud herself, don’t you know…

9:47 — 35 years in the trenches? Really? I don’t believe that. Hasn’t someone already debunked that particular lie?

9:48 — “No way. No how. No McCain.” Whoever wrote that should be fired.

I’m watching on Fox News, not that it matters.

9:51 — I’ll bet that mom with cancer with “Hillary” painted on her bald head — who sadly didn’t have health insurance — was still getting the world’s best health care and cancer treatment despite her inability to provide it for herself.

9:53 — Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones gets a big hand. Is that her son sitting next to President Bill Clinton?

9:54 — “Money borrowed from the Chinese to buy oil from the Saudies.” Yet she stands in the way of us driling and buying oil from OURSELVES. Yes, you are a hypocrite.

9:55 — “To restore fiscal sanity to Washington”. How the hell did she just say that with a straight face?

Sure. Now she supports Barack Obama.

Hillary is putting herself in position for a lofty position in the Democrat party — the next Senate Majority Leader?

9:59 — First mention of “change”.

“We need confident and optimistic leaders” — then why did you nominate Barry?

10:02 — “Health care plan that covers everybody” in the entire world — so much for that “fiscal sanity” lie earlier.

“Joe Biden is wise and pragmatic.” And too tan for somebody from Delaware.

Hillary just blamed John McCain for high oil prices. She’s an idiot.

10:04 — Wow. And I thought Joe Biden was supposed to be the attack dog. Hillary….grrrrrrrrrr.

10:05 — “I’m a United States Senator because”…your husband was a popular President and you’re a carpetbagger?

God this is tiring.

Chelsea is kinda cute now, isn’t she? When did that happen?

10:08 — “The Fate of Our Nation hangs in the balance” of this election. Uh. No it doesn’t we’ll be fine with either Obama or McCain as President. Just “more fine” with McCain.

Oh god, thank god that is over. I was about to tap.

OTHERS Live Blogging:

My favorite live blog snippet from Stephen Green who was — what else — drunk blogging:

9:07PM “We’re Americans, we’re not big on quitting.” Unless we’re Democrats, and there’s a war on. In which case, let’s all be French.

And from John Hawkins on Twitter:

HillDawg is busting out a legacy building speech, more than a Barack building speech so far

Dr. Melissa Clouthier:

Did it seem like a ringing endorsement to you? It didn’t to me. It seemed like she was doing her duty and nothing more.

Charles Krauthammer live on Fox News — the reason Hillary is not on the Democrat ticket is because of Bill.

  1. Hildawg gave Sen.McCain at least two quotes for campaign ads.

    [Editor --- Which two?]

  2. She made some really canned comments regarding McCain. I expected her to be a little more forceful about him – but guess they’re too good of friends? Don’t know, but her comments were pretty civil. I was surprised. I’m not a Hillary fan, but it amazes me that people are so polarized – they either hate her or like her. I don’t hate her – I kind of like her personality even though I disagree with her. Overall, I think she did okay, but really with feigned enthusiasm.

*did i spell feigned right?* heh.

  4. Pam,
Yes ma’am you spelled feign correctly.

You and Robbie have stronger stomachs than I.
As for her speaking well of Mc, they became drinking buddies a few years ago on a junket to Europe, and as a group, they started doing shots. They became buds, as a result.

  5. Wait a minute!
Denver is dangerously close to South Park.
I hope the episode of “Snukes” doesn’t come true.

While I don’t pay any attention to the circus act in the big tent, some of the liberal clowns and their antics outside are fascinating.
    Like this ten minute video.
    Or this one.
    And this one.

  6. Well, I thought she gave a fantastic speech, FOR HERSELF and the Democratic Party. The expressions on Michelle Obama’s face said it all. She was pissed.

And, if it is so important that the Hillary supporters come over to Barack, why in the world didn’t he pick her as his running mate?

Answer: Obama is stupid. McCain lucked out.

Don’t you think that would have been awkward? She’s more qualified than him and yet she is relegated to second banana status. Also, the Obamas have no love for the Clintons. Neither do the Kennedys who are a behind the scenes force to be dealt with.
