Jane Hamsher: Lieberman Would Put me in Gitmo

If only…

Sigh. Jane Hamster is off her meds. Again.

I have an elaborate nightmare where Joe Lieberman gets the VP nod, McCain wins, then dies — and we’re looking at a President Lieberman. At which point I and a  host of others bloggers who supported Ned Lamont wind up in Guantanamo Bay.

Uh huh.

As Ace points out:

This isn’t politics for the left. It’s some sort persecuted-messiah psychodrama fantasia they’re playing out in their own badly addled heads.* Politics are just the vehicle for acting out this consensual mass hallucination. If there weren’t any politics to shape their delusions, they’d just be talking about Men in Black and Voice-to-Skull technology the same as any other muttering, eye-twitching schizophrenic.

Casting these paranoid delusions in terms of political oppression gives them the veneer of sanity. But only the veneer.

Yep. Though I’m hoping for a Fred Thompson VP selection, I could almost live with a McCain/Lieberman ticket just to watch the frothing at the mouth and exploding heads coming from the Left.

  2. Who has cancer? The Hamster? Wasn’t aware of that.

But I assure you, I wasn’t making fun of her for having cancer. But you knew that. I was making fun of her for being a moron.

    But you knew that too.

  5. The outrage machine must running on empty…

The phrase “elaborate nightmare” indicates that, no, she really doesn’t think that President Lieberman is going to send her to a camp.

Of course, the right never engages in hyperbolic speculation of the policies of President Obama.

  6. I am so tired of people putting themselves in “bulletproof boxes”. If someone has cancer and you disagree with them, then you are insenstive. If you are white and disagree with a black person, then you are a racist. If you are a man and disagree with a woman, you are misogynist.

Why can people not accept the fact that there will be people who do not agree with your point of view? If you are going to put your ideas out there, you have to understand that you are not going to get 100% of people to agree with you. If you are so sensitive that all criticism is taken personally, then maybe you ought to keep your views to yourself, or only share them with like-minded people in private.

It never ceases to amaze me. When did society become so thin-skinned that disagreement is not tolerated?

  7. Uh, Preston, he is ‘Senator’ Obama. He still has to complete the ‘election’ process. The ‘anointment’ is still to be completed.

  8. Uh, Artruen, I also ‘annointed’ Lieberman president in the same comment. Get a grip.

  9. Preston, again, I admire your perseverance. I can never figure out exactly what your point is beyond trolling this website and DNC talking points. You refer to Jane Hamsher’s dream and her fear of a Lieberman Presidency and then you come back to your own comment in which you refer to President Obama. Well, let me get a grip. Here goes, You said it. You own it. Now be a man and just flow with it. it is okay. it is politics.

  10. So it’s ok to engage in hypotheticals about Lieberman becoming president and not Obama?

Republican rules are becoming more and more baroque.
