BEIJING – AUGUST 21: Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treavor of the United States celebrate a point in the gold medal match against Wang Jie and Tian Jia of China in the women’s beach volleyball event held at the Chaoyang Park Beach Volleyball Ground during Day 13 of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on August 21, 2008 in Beijing, China. Phelps was phenomenal. The Women’s US Gymnastic team was amazing. And only Usain Bolt seems to be the only athlete able to challenge Phelps’ claim to being the “face of the 2008 Olympics”.
But, without a doubt my favorite athletes and moments from these Olympics has been watching the US Women’s beach volleyball team of Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treavor, who won Gold last night in the rain vs. the host Chinese team.
Their athleticism, their skill, and their sheer joy at playing the game made all of their matches some of the most entertaining watching of the entire Olympic games.
How this sport is not much more mainstream and popular is beyond me.

Well, you’re going to love them even more since they gave a shout out to Pres. Bush. God bless them.
I see penis remnants…

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this team…. Those women are fierce competitors and amazing to watch!
I liked Walsh’s comment that the rain didn’t bother them at all and that they felt like warriors out there.
