Sometimes somebody writes something so assinine, so fucking moronic, that I wish I could simply reach through the intertubes and shake them. Hard.
Just to see if there’s even an ounce of remaining sense in their noggin.
A lady whose Twitter feed I was following — she’s a travel blogger and “social media” writer here in Austin — wrote the following on Twitter:
Dear Republican Party, I can haz my country back now? Kthxbai.
Yeah. I know that was written mostly tongue-in-cheek. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t really mean it, too.
So, excuse me while I go on a little rant.
___________
I’ve heard Liberals lament the same thing or a variation of it numerous times. I’d I’m sick of it.
As much as I despise Democrats and Liberals, I’ve never pretended that this great country is any more mine (or ours) than theirs.
It’s such a stupid and arrogant thing to say.
Let me tell you something sister — I’m a Veteran of this country. I volunteered to fight and to possibly die for it. AND I’m a Republican. And I promise you that this country is every bit as much mine as it yours.
Even though I KNOW I’ve earned the right to call this country mine, the beauty of US citizenship is that you and your ilk don’t have to. This country is still every bit as much yours as mine (and yes, I know you are a Navy veteran. Good for you.).
But that’s just part of why that statement gets under my skin so much — the other part is that…wait for it, dipshit…your country was never “taken” from you. In any way, shape, or form. You haven’t lost a single right. You haven’t lost anything. It’s all still right there for you to under-appreciate and despise in your own special moonbat way.
Other than possibly a few self-induced sleepless nights struggling with your BDS, you haven’t lost a damned thing.
And get this — even if by the grace of Allah Obama wins the election — you will no more have gotten your country back than I will have lost mine.
It just doesn’t work that way.
Your mindset is that this country is somehow lesser for Republican leadership and conservative majorities. And you’re wrong. This country is no less great than it’ s ever been. Since nearly the day of our country’s inception until this very moment in time, we have been the greatest nation this planet has ever known.
I’m sorry that you feel our country is so much less. Actually, I just feel sorry for you.
/Rant off

Nice rant.
Nothing will change for people like her after the election. Liberals are a uniformly gloomy and negative group.
