I’ve been stating for months that the media is in the tank for Obama. This email from a newsroom employee (via Instapundit) makes me fear it’s even worse than I thought:

A READER AT A MAJOR NEWSROOM EMAILS: “Off the record, every suspicion you have about MSM being in the tank for O is true. We have a team of 4 people going thru dumpsters in Alaska and 4 in arizona. Not a single one looking into Acorn, Ayers or Freddiemae. Editor refuses to publish anything that would jeopardize election for O, and betting you dollars to donuts same is true at NYT, others. People cheer when CNN or NBC run another Palin-mocking but raising any reasonable inquiry into obama is derided or flat out ignored. The fix is in, and its working.” I asked permission to reprint without attribution and it was granted.

I don’t doubt that it’s this bad.

The scary thing is that Obamaniacs really believe that the media is in the tankfor John McCain and is biased against Obama.

The media is supposed to be our watchdogs. But they’ve turned on the homeowners and are helping the thieves carry out the silverware and expensive jewelery.

I think that the profession of “journalist” as we once knew it is dead. These people — the entire lot of them — can no longer be trusted as the clarion of truth.

You have sold out, and I’m not buying it anymore.

The traditional MSM as we know it is dying a slow and well-deserved death. I will not mourn it.

Good luck finding another use for that Liberal Arts degree in English or Journalism. I hear Taco Bell is hiring, though. You should try there (but you might not want to tell them about your previous job. Tell them you were a loan shark or a prostitute.)

________

UPDATE:

Lots more reactions at Memeorandum. Including this from Dean’s World:

The news media is becoming more leftist as revenues drop and jobs in the field become more of a volunteer advocacy position than a career, so whatever they’re losing in influence is more than offset by the increased virulence.

I think Journalism, as practiced today in our MSM, is a joke of a career.

With what they’re paying “journalists” and reporters these days — what are they paying you kids anyway? $10-12/hour? $16K/year? — I think that volunteer advocacy position is dead-on accurate.

I’m a professional writer — that’s how I make my living (no, not via this blog…this is just a silly little hobby, but as a technical writer writing software and hardware documentation for advanced combat systems.

No room for biased writing or omissions of key facts when describing how to hook tracks and analyze alerts on a tactical situation display.

I always knew that I wanted to be a writer — early on I didn’t know what shape that writing career would take nor what it would entail.

But I knew from Day 1 that it did not include being a journalist for a traditional newspaper or news program. The snobbery and elitism I’ve seen from my fellow classmates who parlayed their Professional Writing, English, or Journalism degrees into jobs as “journalists” always made me shake my head.

Someone on another blog posted his wife works for the school district where Palin’s children attend school. The msm had reporters contacting their teachers and ex-teachers and trying to get any discipline reports on them. That’s how sleazy they are. They won’t vet obama’s terroist connections but they will harass Palin’s kids to no end.

I’ve had enough evidence over the years to be confident in my belief that the LSM has a total liberal bias. The incidents are too numerous to list, and as with most of the problems in our culture, it began with the counter-culture bullshit of the 60’s.
When I was a kid, I spent my summers and most holidays at my grandparents farm. It was a working farm, cotton and corn as cash crops, lots of animals, and a huge garden. They had two barns, and in one, the loft was for storage of potatoes and onions. There were huge rats that would raid the potato loft, and twice a year we would put rat poison there, to at least reduce the rat population.
Just as we could tell if the rat poison had worked, I can tell the LSM is a propaganda operation of the liberal agenda. I can tell from it’s stench.

I’m surprised you’ve not posted about the $700 billion dollar bill and it’s republican foes Robbie? Pretty major news at the moment don’t you think?

Jonny

[Editor --- I opposed the bailout. I'm glad that enough Democrats crossed the line to vote against it to ensure it's failure.

It's funny how everyone is trying to paint this as "the republicans fault" that the bill failed. But you do realize that the Democrats are the majority party? Right. And that they didn't need a single Republican vote to pass this thing.

If there is any "blame" to be handed around for the "failure", look no further than Speaker Pelosi.]

If there is any “blame” to be handed around for the “failure”, look no further than Speaker Pelosi

Admittedly, her pre vote speech was diabolical - especially when she then had the audacity to contradict herself AFTER the vote was announced.
However, look at the figures of this Robbie.
Two thirds of the republicans voted AGAINST the bill.
That’s two thirds disagreeing with Bush.
Not a good sign.
The MAJORITY of democrats voted FOR the bill.
Regardless of the balance between the two, we have the majority of the democrats supporting the bill and the majority of republicans against it.

The bill should have been passed.
Regardless of how you got there, your finances are f*cked and therefore our finances are f*cked.
The $700 billion would have allowed a hell of a lot of buy back with a clear path forward.
Now you’re gonna have to wait for another bill to be raised and passed - this will probably take another week or so.
More and more debt, more and more banks going under.

Well done America you’re fucking up the world because your to proud to admit defeat!

Once again, the british douchebag demonstrates how desperately he needs attention. There was already another thread on the subject on which he posted, but he has to hijack this one. He’s an infant constantly demanding attention.

You talk so much crap Anon. Nothing to contribute to reasoned debate so you get all insulting. Shouldn’t you be in kindergarden by now - it’s 9.14am
And I told you before, it’s British douchebag, not british douchebag.

Jonny

jonny, the british douchebag, the debate is the media’s bias for Obama, which I posted on. It is you who has not contributed anything to the debate. You only made another one of your childish attempts to hijack the thread because you are a british douchebag troll.

Has anybody thought about the most irresponsible thing done yet by the Dems and that’s adjuourn for a Jewish holiday that is NOT a federally recognized holiday?

Explain that one Harry and Nancy !

Not sure why the focus is on the media (it) being somewhat more leftwing than usual.
I didn’t hear any grumbling when ‘it’ was promoting the right through obvious propaganda techniques.

Maybe ‘it’ is realising the fact that Obama is going to be your next president and is stepping in line to show ‘its’ support?

Jonny

And talking about Media, do you get the BBC over there?
Early trading in the US looking good, and why do you think that is?

It’s because Bush has vowed to push through the $700 billion later this week (as I predicted) and this time it will succeed.
The Republicans know they f*cked up yesterday and you will see a majority vote by them come Friday (or whenever Bush manages to get this underway).

Bush is dead right on this - and it’s good to see quality journalism forget any bias and say what is right and correct.

You and we need this $700 billion to be passed.
That simple.

Jonny

Jonny, as a liberal democrat, I’m going to have to agree with Robbie. Even in dire times, a bailout by the federal government is always a temporary fix at best, and usually ends up causing more problems than it solves.

Take a brief look at the collapse of the “Iron Triangle” in Japan and you’ll see what government bailouts of failing banks did for that country.

We need true reform and solutions, not a band-aid.

Jonny,

If that $700 billion passes, are you even going to thank me…cause last time I looked, that money was coming out of my pocket, not yours, and that’s one of the things that has the mortgage paying, bill paying, do all the right things but get screwed American taxpayer angry.

I consider myself Liberal John, and I don’t think I have ever agreed with Bush in my life but this is no ordinary ‘Get out of Jail Free’ card.
Both the Dems and Reps have put enough clauses into this $700 billion to make sure the American tax payer will not loose out in the long run.
The bad (or ‘toxic’) debts need to be cleared up somewhat - no two ways about it, otherwise it will only get worse.
Decisive action NOW - no dribble of money, no ‘maybe later’…. NOW!
Only Bush and the majority of Democrats seem to understand how dire this situation actually is.

Jonny

We have footed the bill for Northern Rock over here Dianne. Although the business model of NR was similar to that of kid playing Monopoly, Applegarth’s greed might have just born fruit if the US economy hadn’t gone down the pan.
So no, you’re not the only tax payer in the world having to stump up the cash for this.

The choice is your. Go along with the $700 billion or face much worse consequences - higher unemployment (which you’ll then be paying for in terms of tax to benefits).

Kevin Connolly of BBC News, Washington puts it better than I ever could:

American voters simply have not seen this as a crisis that affects their real lives on Main Street - it is seen as a welfare scheme for the humbled plutocrats of Wall Street.
If the problems deepen and people suddenly see unemployment rising because businesses cannot get money from the banks to pay their bills and honour their payrolls, then that sentiment might change.
That is the optimistic assessment - that American lawmakers and voters having registered their pain and anger will eventually fall into line and give the US Treasury the money it wants.
The pessimistic assessment is almost too frightening to contemplate
.

The stubborness shown by the average American voter is frightening!

That said, the bill WILL be passed this week and you’ll all be thank Bush and the majority of Democrats a couple of months down the line!

Jonny

American voters simply have not seen this as a crisis that affects their real lives on Main Street

Translation: American voters simply have not seen how this crisis affects us, the euroweenies.

FDG: Considering that CNN is one of the most guilty parties when it comes to msm bias, I will pass. There are less bias websites that make a better argument for your position than, spit, CNN.

It’s even worse than you thought:

VP DEBATE MODERATOR RELEASING ‘AGE OF OBAMA’ BOOK ON INAUGURATION DAY

I updated the goon squad thread. Someone cornered a head goonie and asked him to define lie. It’s hilarious.

I read in your Twitter feed Robbie that you think we don’t need a bailout and that the bounce back of the stocks yesterday proves it?

WRONG.
The bounce back was because of two things. Yes, stocks are now very cheap and very undervalued, but the main reason they bounced back is because this bill IS going to passed in some way or form and will most probably be passed this week.
Even the most stubborn right wingers are waking up to the fact that a cash injection to clear some of the bad debts is needed.
$700 billion by Friday - mark my words.

Jonny

And to share a little good fortune (feel free to delete if this infringes on any blog laws I don’t know about Robbie), if anyone out there is interested in stocks, I’d highly recommend Dawson Holdings on the LSE.
This was rated a buy at 90p and is now a bargain at 58p - up 9% today based on better than expected results. (DWN.L)

Just a tip - take it or leave it.

Jonny

Thank goodness all you small-government conservatives came to our rescue just in the nick of time.

If it weren’t for the heroic resistance led by the small-government, Constitution-loving conservatives at National Review, Weekly Standard and right-wing talk radio — cheered on by the freedom-loving, truth-seeking investigators of the right-wing blogosphere — we’d probably be living in some sort of Lawless Surveillance State by now, complete with secret prisons, state-sanctioned torture, warrantless eavesdropping on U.S. citizens, process-less and indefinite imprisonments, a virtual abolition of Fourth Amendment guarantees, and other anti-constitutional nightmares too heinous even to contemplate. As the heroic freedom-fighter Mark Levin so memorably put it: “If conservatives don’t stand up to this, who will?”

ahhh, the MIA pat rears its ugly talking points head. Pat, are you one of the Truth Squads? You seem to have a lot of research time. Maybe you could link to some of your writing on the internet so we could see where your coming from…..?

Wow this jonny the (b)rit has no life. But I guess, being british means having no life. KK, I’m done here. Back to work.

Wow this jonny the (b)rit has no life. But I guess, being british means having no life. KK, I’m done here. Back to work.

Any reason for that comment Will? Or is this yet another one of those unsubstantiated “I’m a redneck and I have to abuse all those with a differing opinion to me” comments?

Be interesting to hear why you think I have “no life”.

See I have no argument (on a personal basis) with people like Robbie who can actually substantiated their point of view to a degree by which I have to accept that are fully entitled to a well thought out, honest and educated point.

To simply imply that I “have no life” directly implies that you have no axis to counter my points and therefore you are a redneck who’s kneejerks could possibly propel a ten ton truck into orbit.

If you wish to expand on your hypothesis that I “have no life”, please inform. Otherwise, be open to a likewise school ground, name calling ‘debate’ that I despise so much. I have only just finished with another inbred of whom I spent far to much of my precious time with.

All the best.

Jonny

My bet is 73 approve tonight with a vast majority of representatives tomorrow (as I stated earlier this week).

We’ll get the $700 billion we need with an extra couple of clauses to keep you right wingers happy.

And when the Dow, Nasdaq and FTSE gain 20% in the next two weeks, you should thank those democrats whom save your asses. But you won’t. Because your southern republicans with no idea of a modern economy.

Jonny

‘Doc’ was my fiance trying to get my attention on other computer.

Point taken.

Sleep well.

Who so you think you’re fooling? I’ve lost count how many times you have physically threatened him and called him a racist and/or redneck. You’ve had numerous posts deleted because you crossed the line and it take a lot for robbie to delete a post.

I’ve lost count how many times you have physically threatened him [Robbie].

Never (have you seen the size of him?) - not my style anyway.

You’ve had numerous posts deleted because you crossed the line and it take a lot for robbie to delete a post.

Never - again, ill informed or ignorant, one of the two (mabye both)

Now stop lying. And stop bothering me.

Jonny

My bet is 73 approve tonight with a vast majority of representatives tomorrow (as I stated earlier this week).

Ohhhhhhh, so close! One out.

Jonny

Never (have you seen the size of him?) - not my style anyway.

Liar. And it is definitely your style to do it and lie about it.

Never - again, ill informed or ignorant, one of the two (mabye both)

Liar. Sometimes, you appeared to be drinking. Other times, you were embolden by the dutch a-hole.

More proof that you don’t know what or where you are posting.

Oh, look! The market is tanking in europe. Why? Because as always the euroweenies expected the Americans to do it all while the euroweenies sat on their fat asses and did nothing.

Got something you want to say?
