Jeralyn Merritt at Talk Left is taking bets as to when Gov. Sarah Palin will “drop out” of the Presidential race as Sen. John McCain’s running mate.
Me thinks Jeralyn and the hoards of panicking lefties are a bit worried, scared, and confused about Gov. Palin.
Sarah Palin is not ready for prime-time or the Vice-Presidency, let alone to be one heartbeat away from the Oval Office. As I also wrote the day her selection was announced, “I think she will crash and burn faster than any national candidate in recent memory.”
[snip]
Let’s have a pool: What day does she drop out? The winner gets a TalkLeft 4th Amendment tote bag.
Screw your tote bag, Jeralyn. Let’s make this a bit more interesting: I’ll bet you straight up that Gov. Palin does not “drop out” and is on the ticket with Sen. McCain on November 4.
The wager: $1000 (US).
You can probably have Daddy Soros back you, or hold a bleg if you must.
If you believe your own rhetoric so much, and believe it only a matter of when and not if Gov. Palin drops out, then really back it up.
FYI, when I win your $1000 (if your woman enough to actually back up your bravado and accept this bet), I’ll donate it to The American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort (which will probably still be greatly needed come November).
What say you, Jeralyn?

I can just imagine the frothy moonbat comments on her post.
The Hurricane Relief Fund is a great idea, though.
At least there is one liberal that has a since of humor.
I Hate You Sarah Palin.

Pretty hefty bet for a possibility Robbie.
I wouldn’t want to call it either way.

You’re going to win, Robbie.
McCain loses if he drops her; he’ll be seen as caving to outside pressure. I don’t see this happening because he knew about all of this stuff all along and considered it irrelevant. The Democrats will see him as weak, and those of us on the right will, too.
And one of the few things that I admire about Johnny Mac is that he makes a decision and sticks by it.
So there is no chance at all that McCain throws her under the bus (by the way….Obama WOULD). The only way I see her dropping off the ticket is if she herself pulls out. But from what I’ve seen of her (and I’ve been following her for about 2 years), that’s the last thing she would do. From reports, Bristol was given the same veto power over her running for VP that Trek was given over her running for the Senate. So, the whole family is behind her. I think the family is the only thing that would pursuade her to drop.
You win. When you get your grand, give me a shout, and I’ll be in Austin and we can hit 6th street.
That’s debatable – I would say what is more likely is that Bristol kept it quite until she started to show.
