My wife and I have a 7:00 a.m. flight from Austin to Washington D.C. this morning.

My wife is running in the Army 10-mile race on Saturday, so we’re going up a few days early (and staying a few extra days afterwards).

Blogging will be light — I’ll try to post a thought or two each evening. Heavy Gabe, N2L — please feel free to step in if you’d like.

It’ll be my wife’s first time ever in D.C., and I haven’t been in nearly 12 years. Any suggestions on where to watch the VP debate tomorrow night? A GOP-leaning pub maybe?

Good luck, and be careful in that cesspool.
It’s times like these we are reminded national reciprocity for concealed carry is needed.

The level of security in DC will really disappoint you, hard to see anything, hard to get around the tourist spots. Went a couple years ago after not being there since the 70’s. Wanted the kid to see the white house, he never did, can’t drive to it or even see it from the road, ya have to walk but there is to many bums hanging out in that part of town..maybe its better now. have fun.

Best of luck to your wife, and have a great trip.

Hope you have a good break Robbie - all the best to your wife in the race!

Jonny

I’ll be there this Sunday. I’ll look for ya Robbie.

Got something you want to say?
