You should check out Ryan Lizza’s Obama article in the July New Yorker. It’s a good study of Obama quick ascent in Chicago and paints him as just another politician–which in the end might be the most damning thing about him and is certainly THE chink in the armor of the Obama-as-rock-star myth.
