Yes, patty. Only a pompous asshole like you would find an announcement that someone is participating in a charity bike ride and asking for donations to combat a horrible disease, that even afflicts moonbats like you, mockworthy.

Because posting in a comment, for no apparent reason, that you are a grad student at Harvard is pompous asshole-ery and mockworthy.

Unlike modestly posting a picture of your well-fed corpus on a ten-speed bike on your own weblog.

[Editor --- My bike is 18 speed, thank you very much. And my well-fed "corpus" was able to ride that bike 150 miles through some beautiful Texas hill-country. Passed up a lot of skinny granola eaters all along the way.]

What’s wrong with an excited youth base?

Because you sound silly and immature .

What’s wrong with pursuing a graduate degree?

Here's what I don't understand:

Why make the personal attacks on BOR? If we're so useless, why is there focus on our site? If we're so unimportant, so stupid, so laughable and worthy of your mocking -- why write about us? What's the purpose?

We got a trackback link that we'd gotten traffic from this site, so I visited to see what was up. Instead of intelligent conversation that you see at places like Lone Star Times or Old Government Road, it's a series of commenters that want to mock the fact that we're young and pursue graduate degrees. What's wrong with an excited youth base? What's wrong with pursuing a graduate degree?

I don't assume the editors, authors, or commenters on this blog are stupid, live under bridges, or anything close to that. I do, however, do three things over at BOR:

1) Respect our commenters and engage in them positively unless given reason otherwise
2) Defend myself from stupid personal attacks
3) Allow those who disagree with me to do so without my imposing an "editor note" atop the comment

Finally -- thanks for linking to us. We appreciate the traffic. If, in the future, we see some coherent posts that are honest about the state of Texas politics (like our Report was, predicting R's leading in all statewide races), we'll do the same.

re: Snowed In

Carolyn Boyle's PAC (the Texas Parent PAC, for those following along at home) definitely supported "Republicans" in the 2006 primary (notably Diane Patrick against Kent Grusendorf, for example), but one could make the argument that the entire purpose of doing so was to support "Republicans" who would kowtow to TASB and support the Democratic Party's positions on issues like school choice.

This general election cycle, the most notable support Parent PAC has given is to Donnie Dippel, the D running against (and likely to lose against) R Tim Kleinschmidt for Robby Cook's old seat. Dippel was endorsed by the Statesman primarily for being anti-school choice.

Can't say if Boyle has ever run for or held public office, but she was at one point heavily involved with the PTA and held a prominent lobby position before starting the Parent PAC.

Martin responded to a remark directed at BOR as if he was BOR. Therefore, I have no reason to believe they are not the same person. If they do not want to be mistaken for the same person, maybe, one should not answer for the other.
