I started working out at the Crossfit Central gym a couple of months ago, and have been exceptionally impressed with the Crossfit program and the coaches at CFC.

My wife has been going to Crossfit Central’s bootcamps for the last year with amazing results.

Once a month the coaches and trainers at Crossfit Central host a free bootcamp workout beneath the MoPac bridges on Town Lake (near Austin High School).

I went with my wife this morning to enjoy a free Saturday morning workout — about 70 other Austinites joined us for a really good workout (8:30 — 9:30 a.m.):

I much prefer the Crossfit program to the bootcamps — more heavy weights (dead lifts, heavy squats, power snatches). But the bootcamps provide an amazing cardio workout.

Here I am doing “cowboy squats”, where you hold a medicine ball on top of your head and dip into a deep squat. Then you explode up, leaping up into air and thrusting the medicine ball up above your head.

Repeat over and over and over. Very tiring.
