Yesterday I wrote about new Texas laws requiring all immigrants to prove their legal status in the United States in order to obtain a valid Texas Driver’s License or a state ID card.
Today, the illegal-immigrant pandering/sympathetic Houston Chronicle has this ammusing headline in a followup story:
New driver’s license rule upsets some immigrants
Do you know which immigrants are most upset about the new rules? The illegal ones.
A little-noticed administrative change preventing illegal immigrants from obtaining a Texas driver’s license has upset immigrant groups, lawmakers and Hispanic activists, who predict it will boost the number of unlicensed and uninsured drivers on Texas roads. Others fear it will boost a robust black market trade in counterfeit documents.
Guess what? Illegal immigrants are (mostly) already driving without licenses, are almost across-the-board already driving without insurance. And there is already a robust black market trade in counterfeit documents.
Our state and our national laws should make it more difficult and less-convenient to be here in our country illegally. This law is a step in that (good) direction. Illegal immigrants should live in the shadows and in fear (actually, I’d prefer them to live back in their home countries until they are able to migrate to ours legally).
All you illegal-immigrant apologist can munch my butt if you don’t like it.

They try to sell the insurance aspect of it, but they really want illegals to get driver’s licenses so they can then get delivery jobs which requires that your employer insurer you. This would flood the market with cheap labor and drive down wages. Then delivery and drivers would become another job category “Americans won’t do.”
Also, in many states, you are required to have insurance when you apply for a license, but nothing stops them from canceling it after they get their license.
And to add insult to injury, because insurance is expensive in California, the state wanted to subsidize insurance for illegal aliens. Jeesh! Wake me up when this nightmare is over.
