Robbie, perhaps your readers would like to know how we have arrived at the point where the media is no longer America’s watch dog but a mouthpiece for socialism.

I worked for the Wall Street Journal for years, and while I was in the advertising department, got to know the stringers (reporters) and assigned reporters in two offices, St. Louis and Houston.

The financial reporters were all conservatives. But the reporters hired for op-ed and other non-financial articles were all liberal, even at the WSJ. These reporters came from other publications who had hired them because of the tony journalism schools (like Missouri University) they had attended. This was in the 70’s.

These were the same people who had loaded up on buses and traveled to the DNC Convention of ‘68 and had participated in the “Days of Rage” protesting the war in Vietnam and against “the man”. They were being duped, their protests being funded by groups like the Communist Party of America, but they were too young to realize they were being duped. The protests themselves were interesting; Che’ t-shirts, other students standing at tables selling books by Marx, Lenin and Gramsci (Hitler was still pretty well off limits). Communism cloaked as social justice (socialism).

When the war ended, and their protesting days were basically over, these students, now graduated went on to become members of the press. And some of them, like William Ayers, when on to teach the next crop of journalists. They didn’t change their opinions, or was their hatred of this nation reduced, they just became clandestine, operating within the halls of academia or working for the print press where they could push what I call “creeping socialism”. But they continued to crank out more journalism students who bought into their rhetoric because an impressionable student never thinks that his/her professor would tell them something that was not true. University students trust professors to teach them truth, even though it is really propaganda disguised as academics. Their professors held as example of great journalism people like Walter Cronkite who singlehandedly lost the war in Vietnam. This was the goal, to be like Walter Cronkite and others of his ilk.

So now, after years of indoctrination, the media finally has what it has been striving for for forty years; it’s first truely socialist candidate. All that is lacking is the picture of Obama in his Che’ t-shirt.

So the media, in it’s desire to elect a socialist president, has ignored his past relationships with anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Jewish and anti-white radicals. Americans still have a fear of socialism, so the media ignored what was obvious and refused to report on it.

You see, those who cut their teeth trying to create a socialistic utopia out of the United States cannot admit that their “great society” doesn’t exist and never will. They tell themselves that the only reason socialism has never worked is because the wrong people were in charge of all those socialistic goverments but if the right guy came along, wholla, it would work.

The press has always represented, in the minds of Americans, the guard dog that protects our home. Americans expected fair reporting, exposing the corruption and policies of those who acted against the interest of the nation. This year, the watch dog deserted his post and started running with the pack, become just as vicious as the most vicious in the pack. One only has to look at the reporting on Sarah Palin to understand that. Our media is no longer non-partisan. Instead, it sees it’s goals of forty years coming to fruition.

But the students of forty years ago never envisioned the internet. They thought they would be safely ensconced in their offices able to push their “creeping” socialism on an unsuspecting nation. Now they are a dying industry, with all major print publications having massive layoffs. People no longer wait for that kid on the bike to deliever their daily dose of news. Americans now log on, peruse many publications and get a lot of news from diligent bloggers such as yourself. They are struggling, trying to stay alive, and have found a candidate that will push for the Fairness Doctrine to be revived and think that their positions will once again be secure. They are wrong.

Senator Obama has one talent; oratory. He is an programmed empty suit who simply verbalizes what his handlers have told him. David Axelrod, Obama’s campaign guru, admitted that when running for the U.S. Senate, he would have Obama practice his speaking techniques in front of a mirror for two hours a day. Obama adopted the speaking techniques of a combination of black ministers, including Martin Luther King, Jr.

But the sign “The Buck Stops Here” will be on an Obama Oval Office desk. He, and not his handlers, will be responsible for what are considered his decisions. He will be a failure, because socialism always fails, not matter who is in charge of it. If he implements his tax plan, we will see the greatest exodus of jobs in this nation since the Great Depression. To prevent that, he will have to do a “Bill Clinton” and go back on all his campaign promises. Either way, he loses. And backed Democratic control houses, we will see government control on steroids. I predict that within two years, Americans will be suffering terminal buyer’s remorse. But it will be too late.

One other thing; Joe Biden is prone to sticking his foot in his mouth, but he is not stupid. And he and Obama were recently briefed on national security issues. Americans have pretty much put 9-11 behind them, thanks to the actions of the Bush administration, and no more attacks on our home soil. Will they accept another attack on American soil under an Obama administration? I don’t think so.

I am sorry this is so long. But I hope it gives your readers a little insight to how we got where we are today.

We believe strongly in what our grandfather stood for: honesty, integrity, and personal freedom, free from political maneuvering and fear tactics. I learned a lot about my grandfather while producing the documentary, Mr. Conservative Goldwater on Goldwater. I was 6 years old but I did live 12 miles from Newark in Carteret so I guess I was kinda there. It did scare my parents tho, who were native New Yorkers and fled to Texas along with thousands of other white suburban families. But the real point is – who cares anyway? You sound longer in the tooth than Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers at a red-diaper coffee clatch. Hint: no one who rememebrs is fond of reliving the 60s riots, and by referencing them you’re only gonna draw puzzled looks from the two succesive generations who are now of voting age.

It’s unfortunate that the Marxist were so successful in infiltrating our educational system, and perverting impressionable young minds with their nonsense. retire05…nice post! I totally agree! Even an Obama presidency will not save the MSM on the national level. The damage done to a large section of the public by their bias and their “look-the-other-way” attitude is too extensive. Once people are gone, they won’t be coming back.

The “Fairness Doctrine” if revived will prove to be a disaster for AM radio. Once highly-rated conservative talk shows disappear, so will the advertisers. Liberal-talk radio couldn’t even stay on the air by paying stations to carry their programming, so that is not a viable option. And garden and automotive shows are not going to fill that airtime left void by disappearance of conservative talk shows. The AM frequencies will soon go to the only market left open to them: Spanish-speaking listeners.
