My friend Kathleen over at RightWingSparkle went gun shopping today. One of her commenters smartly notes:
It’s hilarious how now more people will have guns than ever after Obama is elected.
The irony is that Obama will be the most anti-gun President ever.
He not only supported gun bans while he was an Illinois state senator, he also supported prosecuting acts of self-defense by law-abiding Illinois citizens.
He’s made it very clear that he wants to ban all semi-automatic handguns and rifles. That’s the majority of handguns owned in America.
Much as Wall Street has reacted to the looming Obama Presidency (most anti-capitalism and free markets President ever), American citizens are reacting ahead of the anti-gun Obama Presidency by buying guns and ammo in record amounts.
As Kathleen noted about a gun show last week in my hometown of Conroe:
The guy who helped me said the gun show in Conroe last weekend was so packed that you were shoulder to shoulder with people as you tried to walk through. He said he has never seen anything like it. He said people were buying ammo by the cases.
I can’t imagine why that is…….*snort*

Every time I’ve visited my neighborhood gun shop, an Academy, or McBride’s Guns in Austin in the last month, the stores have been busier than ever. I try to pick up a couple of boxes of ammo each time, but haven’t gone to buying in cases yet.
Oh to have some extra cash for a pretty new M1…
