We had a lot of trouble in the UK when ’some’ respected chefs decided to go into the field to actually kill their plates of meat.
To me, this is a natural process, and I speak from me being a vegetarian for three years (after seeing an horrific film on how Beagle Dogs are treated in France and the UK border towns).
If you want to eat the meat, then have the balls to watch it killed.
Why go into a supermarket and buy a budget chicken/turkey and expect not to know its so cheap because it’s a had a pretty shitty life?

In our family it has always been a tradition that the oldest male present says grace over Thanksgiving Dinner. For years (with a few exceptions) that was always my Dad.

This year it will be different because my Dad passed away earlier this year. Today, November 26th, would have been his 75th birthday.

So as we (2 brothers, a sister and myself) all gather tomorrow along with our families at my Mom’s for Thanksgiving Dinner, that tradition of saying grace will now fall to me as the oldest child.

I hope I can say the prayer without choking up.

P.S. We will also be watching the Cowboys game. And all 16 of us will be rooting for the Cowboys!
