In politics you often end up voting against a candidate rather than voting for a candidate.

In the case of Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), the exact opposite is true. I’ve been an avid supporter of our junior Senator all along and proudly voted for him at the polls this year.

I’ve also been a proud member of Bloggers for Sen. Cornyn — helping him get hims message out to voters and countering the often wrong or lacking media coverage.

According to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, Sen. Cornyn leads his Democrat rival, Rick Noriega, by 15 points. A lead that Mr. Noriega has no chance of overcoming.

On Tuesday night, I’ve been invited to attend the Sen. Cornyn victory party here in Austin as a credentialed blogger.

One of the things that I’ve enjoyed about blogging for Sen. Cornyn is that he gets the importance of working with blogs, and he and his campaign have repeatedly reached out and shown their appreciation. Like this video Sen. Cornyn just released to thank bloggers:

  1. Fifteen points?
    That’s all?
I would have thought an inverted number.
He sure seems to get the new media. Perhaps he can impart some of his experiences and wisdom to his party mates.

  2. In my opinion, some of the big name conservative bloggers don’t get it, either. However, now is not the time nor place to go into it.
