John Thompson at the National Post, writing about the Islamic terror attacks in India writes:
The Mumbai attacks represent a scenario that few Western police and security forces have dared envision. Fewer still have prepared for it.
The basic strategy: use a large number of attackers to overwhelm a target city’s ability to respond, and then suddenly switch focus to high value targets and seize hostages.
The US is not as good of a target for these types of attacks precisely because of the second amendment. But that doesn’t mean that we are immune to them. Especially with all of our “gun free zones” and “gun free cities”
Yeah, I’m looking at you D.C., Chicago, and San Fran.
If lots (or even just “some”) of ordinary people in the Mumbai hotels had been armed, those attacks probably wouldn’t have worked as well.
The bad news about an Obama presidency is his desire to ban all semiautomatic handguns (which is most handguns in the United States), and his support of cities (such as Chicago) to shit on the second amendment and turn entire cities into massive gun free zones.
The good news about the pending Obama presidency is that gun and ammo sales are going through the roof right now as Americans are arming themselves while they can.
I drove by Red’s Gun Range in south Austin yesterday and it was jammed packed. The parking lot was completely full.
The attacks in Mumbai this week, and the potential for the same types of attacks being coordinated in the United States makes me even more aware of carrying my Springfield XD 45ACP Compact (my concealed carry weapon of choice) with me everywhere that the law allows.
I refuse to be a victim. And I’ll refuse to allow my fellow Americans to be victims if I can help it.

Gun Free Zone = target rich environment
Al Zawahiri’s latest video warned Obama that Islamofacism is alive and well. The events in India was the proof.
But if anyone thinks that Obama will govern from the center, one only has to look at his State Department transition team full of Clinton administration retreads along with the Jew hater, Samantha Powers (you thought she was dumped by Obama, right?) who will return to treating terrorism as a criminal activity instead of the war that Bush has declared it to be.

The fact that Obama could not sway 48% of Americans with his pretty words will not phase the Man With The Golden Ego. He will still think he can talk the terrorists into going back to their goat herds and being peaceful. And we will be the ones to pay the costs.
But then, the left always has it’s typical response to fall back on “It’s all George Bush’s fault”.

Sorry, Ianimaru, but they were Islamic terror attacks. These barbaric acts were carried out by Muslims in the name of Allah (peace IS NOT upon him) and the name of Islam.
They specifically targeted Jews, as they are instructed to in the Qu ran.
These attacks, just like the bombing of the World Trade Centers, the bombing of the Pentagon, the bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut —- they are all Islamic terror attacks.
To try to pretend that their is no relationship between the terrorists and the “religion” whose name they are acting in is to suspend reality.
Hopefully tonight, I will have time to post the story of two friends, a father and son, that were in the Oberoi Hotel the night of the attack.
They just returned, safely late Monday afternoon.
