Hope you and yours are having a tremendous Thanksgiving day filled with food, friends, and family.
Our day is winding down as I write this. The in-laws have left, I’ve switched into my Longhorn pajamas, am enjoying a glass of egg nog spiked with more than just a little Irish whiskey, and am settling in to watch the Longhorns dismantle the Aggies.
The nursery down the street from us (Pots and Plants Nursery in Westlake) is known for their year-round flamingo display on the corner of Bee Caves Rd. and Hwy 360. Every so often they put up a “special” display.
Like the one they have up this week in honor of the UT vs. AtM game:
The blue and red flamingos in the center are in the shape of the letter “w” for the local high school, Westlake High School. The Maroon (aggie) Flamingos are facing across at the Burnt Orange (Longhorn) flamingos.
Or, you could think of it as a ranking system, as the three groups of flamingos are arranged according to how good of a football team they are: Longhorns>Westlake Chaps>Aggies.
_________
UPDATE (the next morning) — I drove past the flamingo display this morning after Texas whipped the Agros 49-9 last night. All of the maroon flamingos were pulled up and laid back down flat on the grounds.
Awesome.

As the philosopher Meatloaf said, “two out of three ain’t bad.”
And maybe the orange flamingos are on the left and the maroon flamingos are on the right because tu is …?
Liberal Marine? There’s an oxymoron if I ever saw one… but he seems to be onto something.
Hi Robbie -
Thought I’d drop by to say a very happy thanksgiving to you guys across the pond.
You know we don’t celebrate the day over here – today, we simply call it ‘Friday’….. a bloody hard week and thankful for a Friday to be here so quick.
So I guess I am ‘ThanksGiving’ in a way. I’ll thank anyone for a Friday if they are willing for me to ‘give’ the rest of the week away!
P.S. Not wanting to deter from your happy day at all guys – have a good one!
Jonny
Happy Thanksgiving (even it be late
)
