I gotta admit it — I’m really enjoying the schadenfreude of the the entire Gov.  Rod Blagojevich corruption arrests today.

What? You live under a rock and hadn’t heard?

The 2nd term governor from Obama’s home state of Illinois and his Chief of Staff were arrested by the FBI this morning for — amongst other things — (allegedly) trying to sell off the right’s to Obama’s vacant Senate seat.

Kinda makes you wonder how much Obama had to pay for his Senate seat…

Anyway…at the moment the most prominent Republican Governor in the US is undoubtedly Sarah Palin of Alaska. And Gov. Blagojevich is definitely the most prominent Democrat Governor.

Here’s a little compare and contrast:

A tale of two Governors:

Gov. Blagojevich is now the poster boy for democrat Governors. Not only has he been arrested on federal charges, he is the most unpopular Governor in America. You thought Bush’s poll numbers were low? President Bush’s popularity numbers are double that of Congress and Blagojevich polls even lower than Congress.

Compare and contrast to Republican Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. Not only the most popular Governor in America, but with a solid record of fighting corruption as well.

Sadly, the people of Illinois will continue to get the kind of government that they deserve as I’d bet dimes to nickles that another dirty cog from the Chicago Political Machine will end up replacing Blago.

________

Michelle Malkin has more on the First Lady of Illinois, Patty Blagojevich, and her gutter-whore mouth. Feign surprise.

South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson wants Obama to be as open and forthright as possible about any and all discussions his office has had with Blago about filling his Senate seat:

President-elect Obama’s presidential transition team has said the American people should have a ‘seat at the table’ and pledged to expand transparency in decision-making. If President-elect Obama is serious, he should immediately release all records of discussions about the appointment of Obama’s successor that he and his transition team may have had with Governor Blagojevich or Governor Blagojevich’s office. The American people expect and deserve nothing less. When politicians like Governor Rod Blagojevich exploit the power of elected office for personal gain, they demonstrate a disregard for standards of integrity and ethical conduct. Governor Blagojevich’s actions are breathtaking in their callousness and arrogance.

  1. I still kind of like our governor. Texas continues to have relatively low unemployment, high job growth, etc. I can’t find it at the moment, but I had read a comparison (or contrast rather) between Perry and Blagojevich and why so many jobs are flowing out of Illinois into Texas.

You do have a great point. How much did Obama pay for his seat? I honestly hadn’t thought about that.

  2. Once you stop hyperventilating over what looks like a wingnut gift from the Sky Fairy, you’ll see that Obama’s Chief of Staff is the guy who turned Blago in to the feds after he got wind of it.

  3. Malkin’s got no room to talk about whore-mouths.

  4. And this is the state that won’t let anyone even go to a shooting range without that damn FOIC card thing…lol Well – maybe I can find somebody to pay off and they’ll let me go. lol

  5. Oh – one more comment. You know Fitzgerald can be replaced by Obama once he takes office. How much you wanna bet he won’t dare do it. In fact, I believe he’s on record from a short time ago saying he wouldn’t replace Fitzgerald. Unless, of course, he removes all the fed prosecutors at one time … which would be very very fishy.

  6. Obama will not replace Fitzgerald, nor will he do anything else to help Blagojevich. It would reflect poorly on Obama.

And Obama’s got a long history of throwing his cronies under the bus whenever it becomes politically expedient to do so.

  7. While the news seemed to shock and surprise some “man on the street” types, in Chicago, it didn’t surprise me at all.
The only surprise was the love Blago showed B-HO:

the FBI says it heard Blagojevich complain he has to give this “motherf***er [the President-elect] his Senator. F*** him. For nothing? F*** him.”

    That’s some love, right there.
Another thought, as I watched the press conference, was…what is Tony Rezko thinking right about now, and more importantly, what is he saying?
    /hmmm

  8. I can’t believe this!
I mean, this is without a doubt one of the funniest convergences of events, I have ever seen in my life.
Did you know that today, of all the days in the year is none other than,
    International Anti-Corruption Day?
    BWAAAAAAAH-HAAAAAAAAAH-HAAAAAAAAA!

Hey Dingleberry, your right again. Michelle Malkin caused Blago to go bad. As First Lady Of Her Own Political Website, Malkin should be ashamed of herself. As First Lady of Illinois, Ms. Blago should be proud. Proud of carrying on the tradition.
Pat, you use the word ‘whore’ a lot. You don’t like women much, huh?

  10. Artruen, I find his use of firedoglake an improvement from his other sources.

  11. No2, your certainly right about that. I just think it is hilarious that ole hope and change is so quickly (now that the elections are over, anyway) being revealed as ole same ole thing. My motto to all my leftist acquaintances is ‘I hope he leaves me some change‘…….

  12. Umm..

Michelle Malkin has more on the First Lady of Illinois, Patty Blagojevich, and her gutter-whore mouth. Feign surprise.

Do you even read these posts before you react by spilling the Cheetos on your PJs?

As you can see in the linked photos, Malkin’s got quite a hideous mug, even for a wingnut welfare queen. She mimics the facial expressions of the Russian Roulette-playing VCs in The Deer Hunter.

Ahhh, leftists, the Politics Of Peace.
Are only women that you consider to be attractive worthy? And no, pat, I don’t run to each and everyone of your links (they seem to be proxies for your own opinion) and fawn over the brilliance I find there. I have my own opinions, my own life experience. And shouldn’t you be working right now?

  14. Artruen, I thought he hoped to get all of our change.

So Pat, permanent resident of opposite world, believes Michelle is hideous in her appearance? That must mean, in his view, Madeline Albright is a total SI swimsuit model.

  15. Artruen, I thought he hoped to get all of our change.
    Yeah, and he probably will.
Our friend pat seems to have problems with Asian minorities, some Politics Of Peace member he, she or it is. But he she or it probably has the Deer Hunter on VHS. and Fahrenheit 911 and Sicko ad nauseum.

  16. Artruen, no it’s just The Pathology Of Liberalism.
He’s fallen, and he can’t get up.
As for Michelle, take it from me, I lived in the Philippines for two years, and she is gorgeous by any standard. Not to mention she is extremely intelligent, well spoken, a sought after commentator, a great Mom, and has her head screwed on straight, being a staunch conservative.

It’s an old and cheap trick, you racist piece of shit. Those aren’t photos — they are frames taken out of video. By doing so, you can make anyone look bad. Because it is an untrue depiction, they don’t allow people to pull that crap in court. However, no tricks are necessary to make you look bad.
