Marine Dad Surprises His Son at School

I wrote a post a few years ago about when it’s Ok for a grown man to cry in public

One of those times was:

If you’re a Soldier, it’s OK to cry when your feet touch US soil upon returning from a war-time deployment, and when you hug your friends and family for the first time in a long time.

So I would have understood if Marine Corps Corporal Chris Dixon of Carthage, TX would have shed a tear or two (he didn’t) when he surprised his son at his elementary school:

You know there are some military-hating libtards out there who are shitting in their panties because there’s a uniformed Marine at an elementary school. I’m sure there’s some idiot parents out there who will complain about allowing this “war mongerer” to be near their children.

To which I say, “fuck ‘em.”

My favorite part? When Corp. Dixon said that he can’t wait to take his son hunting and fishing. Another young boy who’ll likely grow into a good man, thanks to the great example of a good father.

Thanks to N2L for the tip.

  1. Robbie, thanks for posting this.
My favorite part, was the impromptu reaction of the children chanting “USA-USA.”
    Where did they learn that?
I’ll bet it was from the same quality of people like Corporal Dixon.
God Bless those East Texas folks.
Where you can still find real America.

  4. So the guy gets home from Iraq just in time for Christmas, and on January 3rd, he’s going to Afghanistan.

Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude for the incredible sacrifices made by our service people, and by their families.

Here is a man who, voluntarily, just spent eleven months away from his loved ones, putting his own life on the line.

In less than a month, he’s going to do it all over again.

Here is a family who just spent the last year without a husband or a father, knowing the whole time that there was a chance of losing him forever. And in less than a month, they’re going to do it again.

Our service people and their families are a national treasure, proof positive that God does indeed bless America.
