I nearly laughed when I read this Washington Post Obama-knob-slob story (in the guise of a “news” story) about Obama’s recent obsession with working out.
(And no, I’m not printing a copy of Obama without his shirt…gag reflex just isn’t that strong.)
I have little doubt that “reporter” Eli Zaslow had wood in his pants when he penned:
The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.
Little Eli is probably at home right now banging one out while re-reading his own words of adulation to his favorite man-crush.
What makes this particularly funny, as pointed out by Michelle Malkin, is the media once again openly showing their bias and hypocrisy when it comes to reporting on Obama and President Bush.
Michelle reminds us of this “news story” written by former Washington Post writer Jonathan Chait, and printed in the Los Angles Times:
Recounting how President Bush ran 3 1/2 miles a day and preached more cross-training to a federal judge, Chait fumed: “Am I the only person who finds this disturbing?…What I mean is the fact that Bush has an obsession with exercise that borders on the creepy.”
Chait argued that Bush’s passionate devotion to exercise was a dereliction of duty. “Does the leader of the free world need to attain that level of physical achievement?” he jeered. “It’s nice for Bush that he can take an hour or two out of every day to run, bike or pump iron. Unfortunately, most of us have more demanding jobs than he does.”
Journalist? More demanding job than President of the United States? Excuse me while I wipe the coffee off my monitor that I just snorted out of my nose.
Being a journalist might be one of the least demanding jobs on the planet — unless you consider being a shameless leach on society “demanding”.
Hell, I had a paper route when I was 12 that was more demanding than being a member of today’s MSM.
Well…at least working out is “cool” again. I guess we can thank The Light Worker for that…

A liberal friend of mine assures me the media isn’t biased, but rather Obama is worthy of such coverage and he’s absolutely non-corrupt and doesn’t have a single controversy.
Really, he said all of that. I asked him what the weather was like in Pyongyang. He didn’t get the joke.
Media not biased!!!! Upchuck time. Most of MSM is our worst enemy!! Bah Bah Bah.
This is awesome. I can’t wait for Obama to take office so those of us on the right can watch with glee as the left slowly realizes just what they’ve unleashed on this country. I think we need to put together a massive betting pool on just how long until the top lefty yahoos first utter “maybe Bush wasn’t so bad”. it’s coming. just ask the gays, they’re already sounding like a lonely girl after a cheap one-night stand. “he said he loved me!!!”
MAYORJIMMY,
At least one journalist gets it about W.
Even if he is from the UK.
Obama is lean: Nicotine is an appetite suppressant.
Can O break the addiction of ciagarette smoking?
heh
Exercise is addictive, too.
I think the funniest thing, so far, to come from the Obama ascendancy is the near apopleptic reaction to his cigarette smoking, and almost nothing to his admitted cocaine abuse/use. Some time before this, I had remarked to my girlfriend that a lot of parents, these days, would be less outraged if they caught their kid smoking dope than smoking tobacco. I guess I was onto something.
