Crazy? Probably. Pure evil? Undoubtedly.

Crazy? Probably. Pure evil? Undoubtedly.

Is Andre Thomas crazy? Probably. Is he also pure evil? Undoubtedly.

On March 27, 2004 Thomas fatally stabbed his estranged wife, their young son, and her 13-month-old daughter. After he killed them, he ripped/cut their hearts out of their bodies.

Thomas left the scene, walked home and stabbed himself three times in the chest.

He then went to the Sherman Police Department and told a dispatcher he had just murdered his family and had stabbed himself in the chest.

Thomas told police how he put his victims’ hearts in his pocket and left their apartment, took them home, put them in a plastic bag and threw them in the trash.

Prior to his trial he “plucked” out his own right eye…as you can see in his prison photo. A judge ruled him competent to stand trial, where he was subsequently sentenced to death. He is currently on Texas Death Row, with no death date imminent.

Well, today the paper is reporting that Thomas has ripped out his other eyeball and claims to have eaten it (though it’s possible he flushed it down the toilet in his cell).

OK — if the guys not legally insane, I’ll concede that he is fucking crazy. And the United States Supreme Court has ruled it unconstitutional to execute the mentally insane or retarded.

Which I absolutely disagree with. Just because men like Andre Thomas might be crazy, doesn’t mean that they aren’t also filled with pure evil and will be a danger to anybody else around them for the rest of their lives.

Whatever is in Thomas that allowed him to brutally kill and tear out the hearts of his own family is still within him. It always will be.

And he should still be put to death for those crimes. He is still a danger to the men and women who have to guard him, treat him, and feed him.

  1. How much danger can he be now that he’s blind? I say let him loose in the middle of nowhere.

  2. Kill him!!!!! WTF! He’s no good to the planet or mankind! Worthless! Kill him!!!!!

  3. You SILLY SITTZZZ …. YOU MUST BE 12 OR RETARDED…. THIS MAN IS INSANE AND CANNOT HELP IT!!!! THE JUDGE WHO SAID HE COULD STAND TRIAL SHOULD HAVE TO STEP DOWN FROM HIS “THROWN” AND NEVER WORK IN THE COURTS AGAIN!!!! SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE HELPED THIS POOR MAN WHEN HE PULLED OUT HIS EYE THE FIRST TIME…. WHO THE HELL WOULD PULL THIER EYE OUT IF THEY DIDN’T HAVE A MENTAL PROBLEM????? THIS IS SAD TO ME THAT THIS MAN KILLED HIS FAMILY AND THEN PULLED HIS EYES OUT … OH MY GOSH IT IS SO SAD TO ME. HE HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIS MIND AND LOOKS TO ME AS IF HE WAS ASKING FOR HELP WHEN HE WENT TO THE POLICE AND TOLD THEM HE KILLED HIS FAMILY, PULLED THEIR HEARTS OUT, AND TOOK THE HEARTS HOME AND TOSSED THEM IN THE TRASH. NOW WHAT KIND OF DEAL IS THAT???? COME ON FOLKS NOT EVEN GOD WILL PUNISH SOMEONE WHO IS INSANE… YES HE NEEDED TO BE LOCKED UP AND KEPT OUT OF THE GENERAL POPULATION. HOWEVER, HE NEEDED SOME MENTAL HEALTH ATTENTION WHILE HE WAS THERE!!!!!! I AM SO SAD FOR THIS MAN AND I PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL NOT CONTINUE TO MAKE THIS MAN SUFFER. IF TEXAS TAKES HIS LIFE HE WILL BETTER OFF THAN SITTING IN PRISON SUFFERING MENTAL ILLNESS WITH NO HELP…. SO IF THEY TAKE HIS LIFE THEY ARE REALLY DOING HIM A FAVOR!!!!! JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU START TO GET OLD AND CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING AND IT FREAKS YOU OUT BECAUSE YOU REALIZE THAT SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT…. WELL THIS GUY CAN’T EVEN KNOW WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG BECAUSE HIS BRAIN DOESN’T WORK WELL ENOUGH TO LET HIM KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING IS WRONG OR THAT SOMETHING IS NOT REAL, OR THAT SOMETHING IS REAL. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF YOUR BRAIN BECOMES A FOG? THINKING ITSELF IS A POWERFUL HUGE PROCESS. THINK ABOUT IT… WHILE YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO THINK!!!!!

  4. Yikes.
Adds a new dimension to the term culling the herd.
If he knew to tell the police, he knew what he did was wrong.

  5. Please kill this man… don’t care if he is insane or not. He can not be helped…. better yet stab him and yank his heart out too.

  6. 4U2BNV, are you engaged to that murderer? I quit reading your post after the third capped word…

Execute, stat. All he’s good for now is wasting more tax-payers dollars in… Well, since vision is out… mental and dental visits, and (oh yes), education.

    I stand corrected.

  7. I gave him my heart once…come to think of it…he never brought it back…oh, well…guess he pooped it out.

  8. The man is a cold-blooded killer and knows exactly what he did and how to get sympathy from folks. I agree that he can’t be helped and should pay for his crimes the way he toke his families lives. We have gotten to soft over the years when it comes to violent crimes.

  9. 4U2NV YOU SPEAK THE RIGHT WORDS. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MY APPLAUSE.

    MARIUS

  10. The article as well as the comments are brutually idiotic.

  11. Thomas pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Each side called their experts. However, the jury found that at the time he committed the crimes he knew the difference between right and wrong.

I suspect his acting out may be more related to the court recently affirming his conviction and death sentence.

  12. KILL THE PSYCHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I agree

  14. people have alot of time on their hands

  15. kill the son of a bitch !!!!

  16. kill him

  17. These inmates are much smarter than people think. I wouldn’t doubt if he purposely did this do avoid the needle. It is obvious that he will never be a good contributer to our society. Anyone who can cut out the heart of his own children does not need to be living in this world. I have never been a supporter of the death penalty but for this man…it’s needed.

  18. I wonder what he will do next .I think he should cut his ears off ,then pull all his teeth out ,then cut his tounge off

  19. You left out tons of details about this case in your effort to prove the point that he should be killed regardless of mental health issues. Highly typical of someone who is not trying, so much, to inform but to incite. Clearly Thomas is crazy but to say that a crazy person is pure evil is ridiculous and shows a clear lack of knowledge about the mentally ill.
And for every responder on here that is crying for his blood: Truly, I am not sure you are all that much better than Thomas is… with the exception that you won’t be the one to actually execute him. At least in the case of Andre Thomas he didn’t know what he was doing (documents state that he had an ongoing obsession with the book of Revelations. Killed his “family” to release the demons. He went to the police in an effort to be forgiven for his sins and plucked out his eyes because “it offended him”.)

    • Tons, eh?
I notice you didn’t lighten the load of details by an ounce, much less a ton or two.
Once again, he knew right from wrong after he committed his crimes. I don’t care where his head is today(or three years ago when this thread died), he should be punished for what he did then.

      • It’s a biased piece but presents “tons” of facts:

        http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2013/02/andre-thomas-death-penalty-mental-illness-texas

Your lynch mob mentality is shallow and ignorant. Your thread hasn’t died. That would imply it no longer exists and clearly it was here when I was trying to research facts on this case… although sadly, it only provided a prejudice opinion on the matter. To me, for you to acknowledge he is crazy already shows that he shouldn’t be executed since, in Texas, we don’t kill the mentally insane…. oh, but that brings us back to your vigilante justice and how, as demonstrated in this piece, you are reacting from anger and ignorance but not a shred of understanding or facts.

Feel free to read the article, plus others, so you don’t look so ill informed.

        • You are just another in a long line of useless thug lovers.
He knew what he did was wrong.
Only dinguses like you are interested in his avoiding the punishment he deserves for the murders he committed.

        • Assuming you finally read up on this case then you understand that he has tried to kill himself multiple times both before his incarceration and after… one time ripping his neck open… I just think lethal injection would probably be a cake walk to a guy that has plucked out his own eyeballs on two separate occasions so exactly where is the punishment? I mean, if you want him punished so badly, I’m just not sure that makes much sense. However, I know you are less concerned about the legality of it than I am but the 8th amendment prohibits executing the insane… which you have already mentioned that you feel Thomas is. Honestly, the way I read this all is that you want him to die because it gives you comfort for him to no longer be alive. This restores your balance and confidence is the right and wrong of things BUT in reality, he isn’t the bogeyman. He is a human being whose brain doesn’t work like yours. He has SEVERE issues with reality and is unsafe to be around society again EVER. He should be locked away, treated, studied, not executed because, really, execution does nothing other than make you feel better.

        • No, execution makes society safer. You have no problems putting the correctional officers and the civilian employees lives at risk because Thomas gives you a boner. You’re so special!

        • My feewings?
          Now you’ve done it.

  20. Safer? Than permanent incarceration? That is a weak argument… especially given the fact that Thomas is completely blind. A stronger case can be made that execution costs tax payers less than housing convicts indefinitely but even that would require studying the money spent on appeals and what not. My point all along is simply that those that clamour for his death are the ones with a “boner”. Executing a mentally ill person is tantamount to punishing a 12 month old baby for stealing… they don’t have the ability to reason properly.

And Steve Jobs was a liberal… so chances are he didn’t support the death penalty either.

    • Absolutely safer. That you don’t consider the lives of those who work in prisons or have to come in contact with visitors of any value, tells us everything we need to know about you. Thomas was found competent to stand trial. Thomas was also found to know the difference between right and wrong at the time he committed his crimes. If he is found incompetent to be executed, he won’t be executed until he is again competent. Those are the laws. That you disagree with them is irrelevant.

p.s.: I’m not really Steve Jobs. Jobs is dead. His position on the death penalty is irrelevant. Can’t believe I have to tell you all this.

      • That you don’t consider the lives of those who work in prisons or have to come in contact with visitors prisoners of any value, tells us everything we need to know about you.

        • In an effort to allow for personal responsibility, I understand that a prison guard has chosen that field and understands the job description and dangers associated therewith. Also, I must remind you that, at this point, we are not arguing about any other convicts except for Thomas and therefore, I think arguing that a blind man that spends his days locked in a solitary cell is a threat to anyone is really an unrealistic debate.

        • No, they don’t accept the responsibility of murderers killing them or assaulting them. That’s just another argument that people like you who don’t give a shit about innocent people make. Nobody brought up other prisoners but you. You’re argument that after murdering three people that he is not a danger is absurd.

        • Anon, nothing like having the same old arguments we have seen here for the past five years, yet newbs like this one think they are informed and original.
Nothing like the debunked classics “the murderer as victim” argument, or the lives of prison guards/LE/military “are forfeit” because of their job.
          Deja vu all over again.

  21. I was wondering why this old thread was getting attention. It appears randy Brandi wrote a series of articles on him. While I do have sympathy for the mentally ill, after reading them, I have little sympathy for Thomas. He’s a con artist who was into meth and DXM. http://goo.gl/Hai60

He constantly gamed the system. They whine about him being locked up, but who wants to be around him. He’s extremely dangerous. As to being suicidal, it’s not that hard to kill yourself yet he constantly fails. Some of his suicide attempts have been him merely scratching his arm in order to get out of some requirement. I read that his mother also refused to testify on his behalf.

Unfortunately, the victim led an imprudent lifestyle. Thomas already had a violent history and was in and out of juvie but she hooks up with him and gets knocked up and has a baby at 15. She marries him 2 years later but they separate a couple of months later. She hooks up with another guy and has another baby. The father of the baby says he feared this would happen one day. But, what did he do to protect them? Nothing. When he left for work, he saw Thomas hanging around the neighborhood and called the victim’s father instead of confronting him. I see no mention that he warned her. The woman should have had a gun or at least a door that was not so easily kicked open.

A lot of people who know him believe that he is mentally ill but exaggerates his illness to escape responsibility. Anyway, he’s a continuing danger and needs to be put down.

  22. the state cant torture this guy so he does it to himself.hes obviously trying the mentally ill defense so he won`t be executed
