Roland Burris, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s pick to fill President-elect Barrack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, is an undeniably tainted selection.

But just who the hell does the Democrat Congress think that they are in trying to deny his legal (though tainted) appointment? And why are we all so complacent in just standing by and letting Congress flaunt their disdain for the Constitution and the rule of law?

Not only do they think they can decided which legally appointed and qualified (at least Constitutionally qualified) Senator can be seated — but those assholes think they can block him from legally stepping foot on the Senate floor:

The first Democratic aide said if Burris tries to enter the Senate chamber on Tuesday, the Senate doorkeeper will stop him. If Burris were to persist, either trying to force his way onto the Senate floor or refusing to leave and causing a scene, U.S. Capitol police would stop him, the aide said. Watch efforts to keep Burris from the Senate Video

“They [police] probably won’t arrest him,” but they would call the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms, the aide said.

Burris has indicated he intends to be at the Senate on Tuesday. When asked about what would happen if he shows up, Burris told the Chicago Tribune that he is “not going to create a scene in Washington.”

Bottom line is this: Gov. Blagojevich is still innocent until proven guilty. Until that point, he still has the legal right and duty to appoint the next Senator from Illinois. And as long as his appointee is qualified, our US Supreme Court has already previously ruled that the Senate has zero standing to not seat him.

Do I think that Blagojevich should NOT have selected Burris (or anybody else)? Absolutely. But now that he has, I think it’s imperative that the Senate follow the rule of law and our Constitution and live with the dirty Chicago Political machine that they were only too happy to embrace when it came to elevating Barack Obama from a dope-smoking college kid into a remarkably inexperienced politician.

Think about the horrible precedence this will set if the Democrat Congress suddenly thinks they can decide who gets to join their exclusive little group and who doesn’t?

Anyway — I’m really looking forward to watching the black eyes and embarrassments that are inevitably going to go down on Tuesday. The schadenfreude is going to be spectacular.

  1. Robbie, my bet is that Burris will be seated.

Harry Reid, trying to throw his weight around even extending it into the state level of government, threw down the gaunlet and told Blagojevich that he would not seat Blago’s pick. To back up the Senator whose physical features closely resemble the weasel he is, Chris Dodd and the rest of the Democratic Socialist Party of America wrote to Blagojevich and told him “Don’t do it.”

But they underestimated the cajones of Blago. He took the gauntlet and threw it back in Harry Reid’s face, along with a few eggs. And appointed a “black” man to replace a “half-black” man. And although Blago has been arrested, he has not been convicted of any crime that would remove him from office, and he made his appointment before the rest of the Illinois political whore house could impeach him while it is still legal for him to do so.

Enter Bobby Rush who took his “race” gauntlet and threw it down in front of Harry Reid.

And before Harry decides that he has the authority to refuse to seat Burris, perhaps it would serve him well to read the very Constitution he and the rest of the Demorats quote. Burris fits all the requirements; 30 years of age, a legal resident of this nation for 9 years or more and is from the state he will represent. And while Harry stands with dried egg on his face, the SCOTUS, under the liberal idol Chief Justice Earl Warren, ruled that the Congress could not refuse to seat a Congressman (Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., 1969) just because he was under a cloud of suspecion of wrong doing. Warren also said that the same rules applied to the Senate.

So now what? Is Weasel in Chief Harry Reid going to create a Constitutional crisis? Will Burris and Blagojevich take this to the SCOTUS? My guess is yes and Reid is going to look even more incompetent that he already does. Also, if the Sargent At Arms of the Senate refuses entrance to Burris, will the Black Congressional Caucus support Reid?

Either way, Harry Reid looks like the power hungry fool he is and well, golly gee, he has no exit stratagy for this self created dilema. His tail is stuck in the trap and the in-fighting is just beginning.

Democrats, the party of Guppies. They eat their own.

  2. Don’t forget Madam Speaker, even though it isn’t her territory she won’t miss the power play to put her 2 cents in. I agree Blago is still innocent so he can do it. Munch munch the rats are eating themselves
