Do you remember Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL)? He’s the barely-intelligible and not-at-all articulate guy who threw down the race card in defense of seating Senator-designate Roland Burris (D-IL)
Rush’s district is located primarily on the South Side of Chicago. He and President-elect Obama want to enforce the same unconstitutional and wildly ineffective gun laws on the rest of the nation that they have foisted upon the fine folks of Chicago.
It has begun. Despite assurances to the contrary, some democrats are champing at the bit to institute citizen disarmament, and like impulsive children, can’t even wait for their guy to be inaugurated. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you H.R.45, Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009, introduced in the House one week ago today by Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL).
This bill would:
- Require you to get a license for each gun that you own, thereby registering with the federal government each and every handgun and semi-automatic weapon you own. Not just the ones you purchase after this becomes law, but the ones you purchased before as well
- Allow the government to scrutinize your medical records before they issue you a license
- Require you to take a gun safety class, get your picture taken, give them a copy of your birth certificate, and a thumb print in order to get that license.
- Require you to sign an affidavit that you will keep guns out of kids hands
After all that, the license is only good for 5 years. Then you have to do it all over again. For each gun that you own.
In addition to raising money for the government (at $25 per license), it will also effectively serve the Democrats’ greater agenda of disarming U.S. citizens.
So — a few things here:
- What part of “will not infringe” do these mother fuckers not understand?
- I have to fork over my birth certificate to practice my constitutional right, but Barrack Obama has not and will never release his birth certificate to prove that he is constitutionally eligible to be President? Are you kidding me?
- And finally, if by some freak of Liberal chicanery this passes — no way, no how, not now, not ever will I comply with it. It is not just my constitutional right, but also my God given right to protect me, my home, and my family. From those who would do us harm, or from my own tyrannical government. It is the later that I am most concerned about. If someone comes for my guns, I’ll pull the trigger ’til their all dead or I am.
Simply put, I will not submit.
To any GOP party members planning on backing this — go ahead and pack your bags now, you traitorous sons-of-bitches. You’ll be done in the Republican party.

As for a medical history check… you really – honestly – really are ok with mentally ill people, people who have been receiving psychiatric help for homicidal thoughts, people who are mentally unstable … being able to walk into a shop somewhere and buy a gun?
No one ever said you can’t own a gun, and I fail to see why the idea of licensing and registering is so offensive to you. Big deal, the government knows you own a gun. So what? Do you have something to hide? Just because you have a right to do something, doesn’t mean you get to do it in whatever manner you feel.

Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think, that Jason claims that showing your birth certificate to get a gun absolutely won’t infringe on your rights to own a gun? Meanwhile here in Texas the first fight out of the box in the Senate is — while on its face about the 2/3 versus 3/5 issue — all about Voter ID. I presume that Jason is of the same political party that screams that requiring voters to have ID at the voting booth infringes on their right to vote. But how, Jason, could requring a person to show their ID infringe on a constitutional right?

Really, being behind the wheel of an automobile is just as dangerous, so Jason, are you okay with DMV poking through your medical records to decide if you should be able to drive a car? It is the goverment that has convinced you to give up your weapons, run you into poverty, and is already working on keeping you from leaving (google “exit tax”) that you need to be worried about.
