The (Not so) Daily Dog: Sleeping Cheek-to-Cheek

Angus and Otis, cheek-to-cheek

Angus and Otis, cheek-to-cheek

Our two giant dogs — well, one’s a giant (155 lb Great Dane) while the other is merely “really big” (115 lb Lab/Bloodhound mix) —  have claimed our large sofa as their own (thus the ugly old blanket we throw down for them to sleep on).

After a tough morning spent romping around at Auditorium Shores dog park — playing with lots of other dogs, swimming in the lake, chasing squirrels, and fetching sticks — Angus and Otis are worn out.

My wife caught them snuggled up together taking a nap. After the first picture, Angus popped open an eye to see what was going on:

Angus: Sleeping with one eye open

Faces only a mother could love

Once he realized he was on camera, he came fully awake:

Agus wakes up for the camera. Otis never budged.
