  1. Per phone conversation with Cornyn’s office yesterday, he voted “yea” to the nomination of Geithner as Geithner has assured Cornyn (in a private conversation) that he, Geithner, has made mistakes in the past but FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, will abide by the rules.

See how that works the next time you are audited.

  2. Robbie, you ever try Black’s?

  3. I have. Sadly, it’s only my third favorite joint in Lockhart (Smitty’s and Kruez Market are well above in my book).

Don’t get me wrong, Black’s is really good ‘Q. Just not as consistently outstanding as the other two stalwarts in Lockhart.

And if I’m in the mood for other than Smitty’s or Kruez and I’m in the area, I’d rather go a few miles further down the road to Luling City Market.

  4. I went there once, and really, really liked it. Simple and good. Perhaps the best sausage I ever had, to that point. Great flavor, and a good ‘snap’ on the natural casing.
Kruez will always be one of my favorites.
Still, having grown up in East Texas, pork will always be my favorite, over beef.
Dang…need to make a run for Neely’s in Marshall.
