Not only have many citizens expressed dissatisfaction with this massive spending bill, which does little or nothing to stimulate the economy. The number of citizens realizing this is increasing.
The latest Rasmussen Report indicates public support has fallen from 45% to 42% in the past week, opposition has risen from 34% to 39%, and undecideds have fallen from 21% to 19%. This is good news for America, and with the efforts of B-HO to try and marginalize Rush Limbaugh backfiring, more attention has been drawn to what a disaster this spending bill would be for the future of this nation, as it’s true intent is to make more Americans dependent on government, and add voters to the Jack-Ass party, in perpetuity.
A few other developments are relevant to this awakening by the average citizen. Two Hundred economists have signed a statement claiming their opposition to this legislation, and published it in an ad in the NYSlimes and the WSJ. You can view their ad at the above link, but I will also display it here:
“There is no disagreement that we need action by our government, a recovery plan that will help to jumpstart the economy.”
President-Elect Barack Obama
January 9, 2009With all due respect Mr. President, that is not true. Notwithstanding reports that all economists are now Keynesians and that we all support a big increase in the burden of government, we the undersigned do not believe that more government spending is a way to improve economic performance. More government spending by Hoover and Roosevelt did not pull the United States economy out of the Great Depression in the 1930s. More government spending did not solve Japan’s “lost decade” in the 1990s. As such, it is a triumph of hope over experience to believe that more government spending will help the U.S. today.
In addition, a Harvard professor of economics, until recently a favorite of liberal democrats for his views, had this too say:
But Feldstein yesterday took aim at the Democrats’ general plan – a version of which passed the House earlier this week – saying it’s a “mistake” and needs to be “thoroughly revised.”
That will certainly get him disinvited from some Harvard “mixers.”
In addition, support in the Senate is so poor, a new gang of fourteen is being assembled.
Lawmakers are unhappy that the bill, passed by the House on Wednesday, contains billions of dollars for programs that arguably won’t spark much job growth.
“What I’m hoping to do is bring together a bipartisan group of Republicans and Democrats and offer changes that will attract others and improve the bill,” he told FOX News. “People want this to succeed.”
Asked how many Republicans he can get to vote for the bill, Nelson said he didn’t even know how many Democrats would vote for it.
This bill, in my opinion, is toast!
The only thing B-HO can do to save face, and not lose a considerable amount of political capital, is to sign on to this brilliant proposal.
It would truly be a bipartisan piece of legislation, that would be good for this country.

Robbie, I know you were pulling for Ken Blackwell, but unfortunately, Ken did not pull the votes. Now we have Michael Steele as the head of the RNC and that is good news to me. Steele is our answer to the racists in the DNC.
Steele is brilliant, a conservative, a former divinity student (he studied for the priesthood), and basically a face that is known all across the nation, even more so that J.C. Watts was.
It is a good day for Republicans.
Now, to the Porkulus Bill; it is an atrocity. And as Americans learn more about it those numbers you posted are going to get even worse for Obama. Not one American wants to spend millions of dollars on new equipment for “climate” research when it dawns on them that our regulations have been built on equipment that the government now says is faulty and consequently we need new stuff.
