And so it begins…
I was reading (with initial interest) this morning about a new program in Houston Indpendent Schools called Real Men Read. The commendable goal of the program is to have men from the local communities volunteer their time to promote the joys and importance of reading to elementary and grade school children.
A lot of these kids grow up without knowing many men in their lives (lots of absent daddies or by-choice baby mamas). Which puts these kids at a higher risk right off the bat.
In one-hour sessions in February, March and April, volunteers will read to and lead book discussions with second-, fifth- and seventh-grade students in 31 schools. If deemed successful, the program – based on a similar effort in Chicago – may be expanded to other schools.
The program formally was announced Monday in an afternoon session at downtown’s Central Library.
“Some of these students don’t see a lot of men in their everyday lives,” said Houston school trustee Paula Harris. “To have men from the community show their commitment to the students and their commitment to education and talk about their success – I think that would be really powerful.”
Sounds good so far…but remember…this is the world of Liberal academia…so there had to be an agenda buried in there somewhere. Which was revealed in the next paragraph:
Early reading materials will focus on the life of President Barack Obama.
Well, of course it will. Can’t start the indoctrination too early.
I wonder if they’ll cover the drug abusing years of Barack the Wonder Boy? Or if they’ll cover the years studying the ideology of Saul Alinsky? Or the years working side-by-side with Domestic terrorist William Ayers? I wonder if they’ll describe how Obama used the unsealed divorce records of his political opponents to win elections?
Ironic that the Real Men Read program will focus on a man who is anything but a real man. If I were in charge of the program, I’d have the students start off by reading and learning the stories of
- Lt. Michael Murphy, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for is actions in Afghanistan.
- Petty Officer Michael A. Monsoor, who saved the lives of his fellow SEALs at his sniper position by diving on a grenade.
- US Army Spc. Ross McGinnis, who was killed in action on December 4, 2006 during the Iraq War when he threw himself on a live grenade thereby saving the lives of at least four other Soldiers.
Obama never had the balls to join the military, let alone be that guy who would throw himself on top of a grenade to save his brothers. Instead, Obama’s the kind of guy who throws people under the bus to save his own skin. Hell, Obama was even to cowardly and egotistical to attend the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball — becoming the first President in 56 years NOT to attend this ball that salutes and honors Medal of Honor receipients.
Obama a real man? He’s not even man enough to sit in a room full of Medal of Honor receipients — the REAL men these school children should be reading about.

B-HO isn’t a man, he’s a poodle.

He hasn’t accomplished anything yet except to prove to be a sly and capable politician. That should disqualify him right there as a ‘real man’.
