The Seattle Times is reporting that up to eleven gay bars in Seattle have received letters threatening ricin attacks.
The Seattle Times is quick to describe the letters as “hate crimes” (I’m sorry, can someone remind of which crimes are not hate crimes? I mean, other than black-on-black violence…).
I doubt it.
The anonymous letters say, “I have in my possession approximately 67 grams of ricin with which I will indiscriminately target at least five of your clients. … I expect them to die painfully while in hospital.”
A 12th letter was sent to the alternative weekly The Stranger, according to its Web site. That letter says the paper should be “prepared to announce the deaths of approximately 55 individuals.”
The letter lists the bars as: The Elite, Neighbours, The Wildrose Bar, The Cuff, Purr, The Seattle Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, C.C.Attle’s, Madison Pub and The Crescent. The letter implies the attacks will take place one Saturday this month.
I’m just curious if the Seattle Times was as quick to condemn the gay community for hate crimes when they threatened to burn down Jewish Synagogues because of their support of Proposition 8?
I doubt it.
After the deluge of “hate crimes” committed against Liberals that turned out to have actually been committed by the very person who claimed to be the victim of the faked “hate crime” — I’m sorry if I sound cynical when I wonder aloud if perhaps the owners of these bars (or some other gay activists) sent the letter themselves to 1) draw sympathy for their plight as gay people struggling for acceptance and equal rights, and 2) gain a bunch of free publicity for their string of gay bars.
All of which happened to be named in the letter. Which means the names of these bars will be freely publicized.
Sorry, Libtards…but when you scream wolf (or more accurately “victim”) so often, it starts falling on cynical and deaf ears.

NOTE – of course if it turns out that some anti-gay bigot actually did send these letters, I hope they catch the son of a bitch and send him/her to prison.

Was it hate crime when our Austin neighbors started making firebombs to throw at cops and Republicans?
