Timothy Geithner — Tax Cheat and Exploiter of Illegal Immigrant Worker

Could the AP white wash this story anymore on Obama’s pick to run the Treasury Department?

In their “reporting”, the AP helps float the spin that Timothy Geithner’s failure to pay $34,000 in taxes from 2001-2004 is just an “honest mistake.”

Uh-huh. Sure it is. Just like Charlie Rangel (Democrat), the guy who helps write our nation’s tax code, also made an “honest mistake” when not paying his taxes.

So, Obama tags this guy to run our Treasury Department, despite the fact that he’s either 1) not smart enough to figure out that he has to pay taxes on self-employment taxes, or 2) smart enough to know better, but just too dishonest to care.

Outstanding.

But the part of the AP story that has my balls in a knot is this sentence at the end of the story:

Geithner also didn’t realize a housekeeper he paid in 2004 and 2005 did not have current employment documentation as an immigrant for the final three months she worked for him, the transition official said.

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle.

Is that what we’re calling illegal alien hired help these days? Immigrants without employment documentation?

If this was a Republican the story would have lead with it, and the headline would have been, “Hypocritical Republican Exploits Illegal Immigrant“.

The worst part of this story is that nobody on the left or in the media will really care that the guy getting ready to run our Treasurey Department is a tax cheat (and an exploiter of illegal immigrants).

  2. Arrogant beyond belief

Time for poetic justice: wealthy corprate banker Timothy Geithner will have to turn into Timmy the housekeeper and pay off his taxes doing the menial chores his maid did. Then he can have the job.

Just make him take off his expensive Italian shoes and his silk socks and keep him barefoot in the kitchen, mopping the floor in his pinstriped suit; he can’t put those shiny shoes back on until every last cent is paid.

  3. Let’s reward tax cheats! How low can the Democrats go? Oh, but let’s not forget Timothy Geithner’s punishment. According to this morning’s Wall Street Journal, Obama’s going to freezing all new appointees’ salaries. Freeze their salaries on the day they are appointed? That will really save us money! How many of you were given a salary increase on your first day at work anyway?

I wonder, if I choose to not pay my taxes for four years is Obama will give me a $250,000 job in his administration? He’d probably send me to Guantanamo – I forgot, he’s going to close Getmo, bring the terrorists to our country, read them their “miranda rights”, spend tens of millions of taxpayers $$ giving them attorneys, access to our intelligence info, food, housing & clothing, and public trials. And then they will be let loose into our neighborhoods. And we will all be required to sing “THIS LAND IS THEIR LAND……”

And to think they get all this with out having even “cheated on their taxes” I think Geithner is getting screwed.

  4. [...] Perhaps it was just an innocent mistake, your Presidenciness.  I mean, you are sitting next to a tax cheat you nominated to be in charge of the IRS.  Do you really want to be preachy about [...]
