Jesus Harold Christ on melba toast — did Obama appoint anybody who isn’t a tax cheat?

Former senator Thomas A. Daschle, nominated to be secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, paid more than $100,000 in back taxes and interest this month for the use of a car and driver over the past three years, the White House said tonight.

Not to worry, though — as long as Sen. Daschle writes “Rangel Rule” on his tax return when he finally does pay back those taxes that he “forgot” to pay, he won’t have to pay any fees or penalties.

Either that or just remind them that he’s a Democrat, in which case the IRS will go into default “forgive and forget” mode.

Tax laws required Daschle to declare the services on his income taxes, but Daschle did not correct the violation until during his vetting to head HHS. In amending his tax returns for 2005 through 2007, he paid $101,943 in back taxes plus interest, ABC reported.

Notice that he only paid back what he owed “plus” interest. Notice what he didn’t pay? Any penalties and fees.

Just gotta love all these Obama democrat appointees who don’t realize that they owe tens-of-thousands of dollars in forgotten taxes until they are vetted. Which means that if they hadn’t of been vetted, their tax cheating ways would have gone unnoticed and unpaid.

Rumor has it though that Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn has spoken privatley with Sen. Daschle, and Daschle has assured Cornyn that it was “an honest mistake”, and from this day forward he promises to pay some, if not most, of his taxes. Stay tuned for updates of Sen. Cornyn voting to confirm another Obama tax cheat.

Mark my words — Obama’s administration will go down as one of the most corrupt in history. Two weeks in and they’re already making a good run at that title.

  1. I completed my income redistribution forms earlier this week. This is my annual time of rage. As double income no kids household in a blue stronghold, I feel income redistribution like few others. But, despite my complaints, I’ve never failed to pay all that the government says I must. I must make note that my next career should be as a dumbshit politician…..I’m sure I could more than half….oh, hell, using current politicans as my guideline, I could completely avoid my “obligation” for income redistribution. SIGN ME UP!

  2. The money quote from ABC news web site, by Eric Cantor with whom I am starting to fall in conservative love:

A pattern is developing,” Cantor said. “The pattern is solidified. … It’s easy for the other side to sit here and advocate higher taxes because — you know what? — they don’t pay them.”

  3. Dianne,
Dangit girl…throw us a bone, and share a link.

This is already the most corrupt administration in history, and it’s cabinet posts aren’t even filled yet.
As one person has already declared it, Chicago on the Potomac.
