Oh, wait — I think she said just the opposite….that the state of Kansas doesn’t have any more money, and they’re not going to pay what they owe you.
Imagine if the rolls were reversed
Imagine that it is April 15, and you owe the government additional money for taxes beyond what they already stole from you the year before.
Now imagine that you simply don’t have the money to pay those taxes. Times are hard, after all; according to the Obamassiah, it’s as bad as it was during the Great Depression (it’s not).
Imagine just being able to send a note to the government telling them that even though you owe them money, you don’t have it. But you’ll pay them those taxes later. When you do.
Well, unless you’ve just been appointed to the Obama administration, I don’t think the IRS or your state government is going to be so accommodating.
You can look forward to hefty fees and penalties. Likely much, much more than the amount of taxes you probably owe. Fail to pay those fees and penalties + interest + the original owed taxes, and you can start looking forward to having your remaining assets (your home, bank accounts, pay checks, cars, etc.) seized. Leaving you nothing to pay the lawyer your going to need as the criminal and civil proceedings get under way.
Kansas Government is Broke
No imagine if it was the government that owed you money? Like if you lived in Kansas:
The state doesn’t have enough money in its main bank account to pay its bills, prompting Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to suggest transferring $225 million from other accounts throughout state government. But the move required approval from legislative leaders, and the GOP refused Monday.
Budget Director Duane Goossen said that without the money, he’s not sure the state can meet its payroll. State employees are due to be paid again Friday.
Goossen said the state stopped processing income tax refunds last week.
The state of Kansas just said, “Yeah. We know it’s your money and that we owe it to you. But we’re not going to pay it. Because we don’t have it.”
Again, imagine if you tried to tell the state of Kansas, “Yeah, I know I owe taxes. But I don’t have it. So, I’m not going to pay, mmmkay?”
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the Governor of Kansas who has managed to spend more money than the state takes in? She’s a Democrat. Feign surprise.
Screw the tax payers
Once again the first people to be penalized when government spends more than they make is the tax payers. I’ll bet you dimes to nickles though that welfare checks go out on time on Friday. The people that are living on the tax payer dime and not paying any taxes will still get their government checks and their food stamps…right on time.
Meanwhile, hardworking, tax paying, contributing members of society will just have to suck it up.

Seems to be a lot of that going around, these days.
My daughter and husband are owed $1000 from State of Kansas. Sebelius is a horrible governor. She’s pro-abortion to the extreme. She’s pro-illegal immigration. She vetoed a clean coal plant that was passed by the legislature. Come to think of it, Obama will love her as his new HHS secretary.
I file quarterly. I plan to not give them one damn nickel I don’t owe and if I owe a little more next time, so be it. They need to cut welfare spending.
