Barack Obama made a lot of promises during his campaign. A lot of hopiness and changeitude. Since being elected President he’s done almost the complete opposite of everything he promised while campaigning.

Either he was lying then, or he’s lying now. More than likely it’s both.

Sweetness & Light notes that, with just one item — the Generational Theft Act — Obama broke 7 campaign promises:

1. Make government open and transparent.

2. Make it “impossible” for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.

3. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. (Even Congressional Republicans shut out.)

4. No more secrecy.

5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill.

6. You’ll know what’s in it.

7. We will put every pork barrel project online.

Of course, Mr. Obama lied again in regards to the pork-laden anti-stimulus bill when — in front of a world-wide audience — he said, “Read my lips: this bill has no earmarks in it.”

This easily eclipses “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky” for the most bald-faced lie told by a President in quite some time.

Ace of Spades adds:

Indecision, backtracking, waffling. After 26 days in office, these are the words that best describe the Obama Administration. Actually, given the serial flip-flops during the campaign and then again during the transition, I am certain that Obama’s inability to make a decision, communicate it clearly, and then stick to it will be the hallmark of this presidency.

Hysterically enough, the kids over at Austin’s favorite Liberal blog, Burnt Orange Report, are “thrilled with President Obama’s first weeks.”

Despite the lies. Despite every-other Obama appointee having to make things right with the IRS before proceeding. Despite admitting that Bush and Clinton’s rendition policies are sticking around (because they work). Despite hiring nearly the entire Clinton machine in the guise of “change”. Despite the spectacle of filling his vacated Senate seat. Despite smacking his head on a helicopter. Despite pissing off our British allies by insulting their gift. Despite needing a waiver to the “no lobbyist in my administration” for all of the lobbyist in his administration.

Sheesh. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the show?

  1. Now they get it.
    Dumbasses!
Should have been paying attention during the campaign season.

  2. [...] Robbie seems to be starting a nice tally of the broken promises. [...]

  3. So you’re bitching and whining because the guy you didn’t vote for is breaking promises?

That’s pretty much like complaining because the girl you turned down for a prom date ended up having herpes.

Oh, and before you ask…the sex was really really good.

    • So, Dino, using your brilliant logic, since I didn’t vote for the guy — I have no right to be critical of our Nation’s President or his policies? Nor should I be able to point out and criticize his lies (which, not-so-surprisingly, you don’t address at all)?

Wasn’t it the angry Lefties over the last 8-years telling us how patriotic dissent was? Did that change to (along with Obama’s ability to remember what he promised from day-to-day)?

Now…would you like to try to refute, spin, or justify any one of the seven lies I’ve listed? Or is telling the truth impossible for any lefty?

  4. At least DiNo let every body know it has herpes.

  5. So THAT’S what those little bumps are? She told me it was a love rash.

I couldn’t stand Bush, I can’t stand Obama and even money says the next guy (or gal) is worse. I used to vote Republican and I am now a Libertarian. Both parties have betrayed us…while we probably won’t win the Presidency next time, maybe we can get some people in Congress.
