Even the official Newspaper of Unrestrained Barrack Obama Knobslobbing (formerly The New York Times) is starting to lean towards “maybe Obama was full of shit during his campaign.”

During almost two years on the campaign trail, Barack Obama vowed to slay the demons of Washington, bar lobbyists from his administration and usher in what he would later call in his Inaugural Address a ‘new era of responsibility.’ What he did not talk much about were the asterisks. The exceptions that went unmentioned now include a pair of cabinet nominees who did not pay all of their taxes. Then there is the lobbyist for a military contractor who is now slated to become the No. 2 official in the Pentagon. And there are the others brought into government from the influence industry even if not formally registered as lobbyists

Of course, the NY Times won’t go as far to use the L word — even though it’s become crystal clear to anybody who has been paying attention that almost every thing that came out of Obama’s mouth over the last two years of campaigning was a deliberate LIE.

The real problem is that Obama is so used to politics as usual Chicago style, and he’s so accustomed to running around and making buddies with the worst sort of corrupt/immoral people (Rezko, Ayers, Wright, etc.) — that he honestly doesn’t think that there’s anything wrong with people who cheat on their taxes or lie about their promises. It’s the norm in his group.

Captain Ed quips, “It’s been less than two weeks since Obama took office, and he’s appointed a lobbyist a day to a government position.”
