Drudge brings up an interesting reminder of 1) the lies of “change” Obama told us while he was campaigning, vs. 2) the reality of an Obama “politics as usual” administration.
- The lie of change during the Obama campaign: “End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors”
- The reality of politics as usual after the election: “Republicans Shut Out of Stimulus Conference Negotiation”
You know…because he fucking won, man!
That’s why he and his Democrat crooks-and-cronies in the House and the Senate don’t have to bother pretending they are interested in all of that “bi-partisanship” bullshit that Obama lied about during his campaign…
Unless I missed the press conference where Obama rebuked House and Senate Dems for not including nor seeking out any bipartisan input or support for the Generational Theft Act of 2009.
Much respect to Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) for doing what he can to let the public and the compliant media know what is going on behind Pelosi’s closed door by holding a press conference in front of Pelosi’s closed office door:
“My name’s Tom Price and I represent the Sixth District of Georgia and [am] the privileged chair of the Republican Study Committee,” Price said. “It’s now noon on Wednesday. I’m standing outside the office of the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. The door is closed. We just heard news break there’s been an agreement between the House and the Senate on the non-stimulus bill.”
More Campaign Lies Exposed
Looking back at Obama’s Change.gov promises during his campaign, I had forgotten about these out-right lies:
- Sunlight Before Signing: “Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.”
Right out of the gate — the very first big and important piece of legislation during the Obama administration, the Stimulus Package (better known as The Generational Theft Act of 2009) — was rushed through Congress without giving the American public an opportunity to fully review and comment on it.
The damned thing is nearly 800 pages long — or 1 billion dollars per page if you are keeping track. Most Senators and Congress-critters have no idea what’s in it. Much less a full vetting by the public. Like Obama promised.
Oh wait. Never mind. There’s the key “loophole” word — non-emergency bill. Of course this bill is a super-duper Emergency bill. Which is why nearly half of the trillion dollars won’t even spent in the next two years.
- Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: “Obama’s Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate”
Same lie. Different angle on it. There is more pork in the Generational Theft Act than there is in all the pig farms in all the world combined. There is nearly too many special pet project spending line items in this fiasco to even start counting.
But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try. Every single dollar being spent in that bill should have the name of the Senator or Congressman beside it who inserted it.
That would be transparent.
But again….I don’t think the word transparent means the same thing to you and me as it does to a House-full of lying and theiving career crooks and criminals.

Off-topic, but some fine corrupt Democratic judges denying youths legal counsel and other grave injustices in exchange for kickbacks:
“Many appeared without lawyers, despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 1967 ruling that children have a constitutional right to counsel.”

Sam, ran across that over at Freeper, a little earlier.
Sort of one of those knocked over with a feather moments.
Continuing to spotlight B-HO’s lies is important, mostly for those who weren’t paying attention during the campaign and didn’t know he was lying then, just to get elected. Most who did not vote for him knew he was lying then, and I suspect many of B-HO’s supporters knew he was lying, and approved of his tactics, then as now.
This info will be useful in the next year, when the campaigns get started for the midterm elections. After the first six to nine months of wrecking havoc on America, B-HO and his fellow travelers will start campaign mode once again, and lie even more.
