Do you know who the President of France? If you said Nicolas Sarkozy, congratulations on keeping up with world affairs.
If you said Jacques Chirac, then you’re as politically naive as Barack Obama.
In case you haven’t heard yet (and, if you only get your news from the Obama-Knob-Slobbing Media, you probably won’t hear about it) — Obama sent a letter to the President of France, writing:
I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.
Except that Obama sent the letter to Jacques Chirac, who has not been the leader of France since May 2007.
Now, I have no doubt that Obama would prefer to work with Chirac than with Sarkozy, as Chirac’s politics more closely align with Obama’s than do those Sarkozy (who, in case you’re not keeping up, is the current President of France).
Someone should take away Obama’s crayons and Big Chief tablet before he sends off anymore embarrassing letters to former national leaders.
Obama is either the biggest idiot to ever sit in the Oval Office, or he’s deliberately trying to piss off the leaders of our closest allies. Of course, I happen to believe it’s both.

It’s also slightly ridiculous for Bambi to claim to be looking forward to working with an out-of-power French leader, especially when he has made no visible effort to work with France’s current one.

That sound you hear is me banging my head on the desk because I just don’t know what to say. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
Is this snub revenge for Sarkozy calling Obama’s foreign policy “utterly immature” during the campaign?
Maybe Barack Obama was too busy running for the next-higher-office (which is his his one strength) to bother reading a newspaper or a magazine or even a book to discover that they held an election a couple of years ago and elected L’Americain, Nicolas Sarkozy, as president.
Is Obama consulting with his Secretary of State about these secret letters, YouTube videos and stupid gifts? Is it a case of Dumb and Dumber or is Obama just doing what he damn well pleases?
I can’t escape the feeling that President Obama just does not give a flip about diplomacy. Or rather, he’s so narcissistic, that he figures anything he does will be preferable to what his predecessor did. Newsflash, Mr. President. Some of the leaders in the world may not have liked George W. Bush, but you can be sure they respected him.
President Obama is quickly taking the position of being unliked and disrespected.
I hate to agree with Hugo Chavez, but Obama really is an ignoramus.
No world leader could be that daft, his administration so glaringly incompetent, as to send a letter pledging co-operation with a man no longer in office.
Then again, it might explain Obama’s shabby treatment of Gordon Brown.
He may have been expecting Margaret Thatcher.
Much more at Memeorandum.

Last I heard, Chirac was recovering from a vicious poodle attack who was over medicated with antidepressants.

I thought his Momma always said, “see ya’ later, enjoy living with your grandparents.”
Judging by what a total goof Oprompta is, he may have thought Chamberlain was still the PM of Great Britain, and Rothspierre the leader of France. But even those names may be expecting too much from the stoner student from Hawaii.
How dumb do you have to be to not know that Red Eye is political satire and not news? Oh, wait…you only have to be Canadian. Seriously, get over it. You’ve been dumping on us for decades. Typically, you whine when you get even a little bit of it back.
That’s right.
And Terrance and Philip aren’t funny.
You have to admit it was really bad timing with us Canadians participating in yet another repatriation ceremony for 4 more soldiers killed in Afghanistan and then to have these yahoos making fun of the military. It was hurtful and not the least bit funny for the families of these and other soldiers killed over there.
You guys are all idiots. The fact that you think the president actually postmarks his own letters is pretty funny and why the hell does something like this even matter. I’m so tired of people nit-picking every move the president has made. Shouldn’t we be looking at the fact that he is trying to save ties with countries that our ex-president messed up in the first place…… We have this president for four more years here in the United States. No matter where you’re from you must realize that it does no good to divide countries over moot points and ridiculous argument when there are pressing issues (ie War in the Middle East) that effect the entire world.
That he doesn’t know who the PM of one our oldest allies is?
If you’re tired now, you are gonna be exhausted long before this year is out. In four years? You will wither away.
Such as?
Iran declared war on us thirty years ago, and still chant “death to America” every Friday. I know B-HO claims everything wrong in this world today is W’s fault, but since he is a pathological liar, no serious minded person actually believes his bs.
Divide what countries? You mean this one? The one liberals started ripping apart since the 1960’s, and only accelerated their moonbattery during W’s years in office?
I’ve heard this silly shit from the left since the election, that we should all just play nice and rally around this creature we have as our current President. It doesn’t work that way. With a radical Marxist as President, he gets no slack from conservatives, and those who truly love this country and what it stands for.
“Someone should take away Obama’s crayons and Big Chief tablet before he sends off anymore embarrassing letters to former national leaders.”
As if embarrasing letters are the biggest problem you have.
Where were you when your beloved Georgie fucked up everything? Someone should take away Bush’s crayons and Big Chief tablet before he sent thousands of young men to the inferno and the embarrasing war. And you call Obama stupid? Really? After the most idiotic president we have ever seen in the White House? Dude, you really are conservative. Hardcore moronic conservative who was proud to “serve his country”. Since you are a veteran, I hope you realise that you weren’t fighting for your glorious nation. You were fighting for profiteers. Oops, didn’t see that coming, eh?
I don’t care if you approve this comment or not. I just hope you think about what I wrote. And yeah, I’m from Europe. Go ahead and rant about Europe in your next post. I won’t read it anyway.
Jane, thank you for such a stereotypically phrased leftist perspective.
It’s good to hear from upside-down world denizens like yourself, to remind us of how so many have fallen so far.
