Just got home from the RIGHT-by-Southwest Happy Hour (part of SXSWi) sponsored by Engage and Edelman Digital at the Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill here in Austin.
Lots of great networking, with some Conservative big-hitters from Washington D.C., like Mary Katharine Ham, Patrick Ruffini, Mindy Finn, David Almacy, and Michael Krempasky.
Also, some of Austin’s most prominent Conservative bloggers and policy wonks, like David Guenthner, Michele Samuelson, and Patrick Ramsey.
Michael Williams – The Next Senator from Texas

RRC Michael Williams at RXSW in Austin
But the reason we were all there was to listen to Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams speak. In addition to being elected to state-wide office three times in Texas, Commissioner Williams is also running for the US Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison when she runs for governor.
To say that I’m a huge Michael Williams fan is an understatement. He’s exactly the type of consistent and strong Conservative that we need to elect to rebuild our party.
Mr. Williams and his wife Donna were exceptionally gracious and friendly. They both spent a considerable amount of time in small groups talking openly and frankly about whatever was asked. I came away more impressed with Michael Williams the man than the politician — and I think a helluva lot of him as a politician, too.
Mr. Williams describes himself as a fighter. And I have little doubt that’s exactly what he would do for us in the Senate.
I look forward to working with his campaign to help get him elected as our next Senator.

Dang, Mary Catherine Ham is not only smart, and an excellent writer, but cute as she can be.
Big Michael Williams fan here, also. We need men like him, more now than ever.
Robbie, Thank you for the links on Mr. Williams. They helped me form a very good opinion of him for the Senate race and beyond. We need more men and women like him!! We need to get him up in the DFW area soon to make sure his message is heard all over Texas.
Man, I never hear about these things. Obviously, my blog is not prominent enough.
BTW, you misspelled “Guenthner”.
Croc, email us at [email protected] to extend an invitation.
Great to see you and the rest at Moonshine last night. Wish we could do these more often.
