Here’s a headline in this morning’s AAS — our totally unbiased, objective news reporting daily:
Perry teaming with radio hosts to bash Obama
Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to appear tonight in Garland with talk radio hosts Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Gallagher to talk about the first 100 days of the Obama administration. As Ken Herman and I report in today’s Statesman, it’s another chance for Perry to beat up on Washington and court the conservative base.
Nope. No bias here at all from Statesman “reporter” Jason Embry.
Governor Perry can’t criticize President Obama and his policies…he’s “bashing” Obama (remember way back when dissent used to be patriotic?).
Later in his story, Embry sites a poll from another totally unbiased, objective media source —the Daily Kos:
I should have reported on this on Friday: A new Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll puts Perry’s favorability rating among Republicans at 76 percent and Kay Bailey Hutchison’s at 86 percent.
How accurate could a Daily Kos poll on the favorability of Republicans possibly be? The entire site is overrun with unhinged Liberal whack jobs — not exactly a representative sampling of Republicans hanging out answering Daily Kos polls I’m guessing…
But that won’t stop the Statesman’s ace “reporter” from siting it as a valid news source.
And newspapers like the Statesman wonder why their dying…

The Statesman is a joke, and Jason Embry is among the worst. He is the lap dog of several folks at the Lege, who interestingly, despite the deep skeletons in their closet, never seem to have their stories see the light of day. Things that make you go “hmmm….” Every time you see some “SCANDAL” come out due to Embry’s crack reporting, just look at who likely fed him the story. It’s pretty obvious whose shoes he licks over there. It is really pathetic. I guess he figures that when the Statesman finally folds that one of those shmucks will give him a job. He is sadly mistaken.
When the Statesman eventually goes belly-up (any luck on finding a buyer yet? Yeah, didn’t think so.), where will such an intellectually dishonest and below average hack find another job?
I’m guessing “would you like fries with that” might actually be setting the bar a little he for Mr. Embry.
Not looking too good for the print wing of the Obamedia.

23 of 25 top papers recorded declines in circulation, save for the Denver Post (which had no accurate sample since the competiting Rocky Mountain News folded) and the Wall Street Journal.
I think we should help the Austin American Democratic Spinman go out of business. Every time you see one of your liberal friends reading the rag, feign shock that they would even buy a newpaper considering that newsprint is made fro (gasp) trees. Ask them if they know how many trees are cut down just for one day’s edition. If they say “no, how many?” just tell them they should research that information and you don’t want to ruin their day.
If there is anything a greenie Austinite loves, it is trees.
Did ya’ll know that the trees they use to print the Spaceman are the trees that the golden cheeked warbler used to nest in before the trees were turned to pulp to print pap? Yep, its true!
