If Obama is overseas, then you know what he must be doing — that’s right, bashing Americans. It’s what he does.
From Kim Priestap at PJ Media:
While in Strasbourg, President Barack Obama told an audience in a townhall meeting that America needs to change its attitude toward Europe. He said America was wrong for not celebrating Europe’s “dynamic union” and not seeking “to partner” with them to better address the “common challenges” that face our nations. He even went so far as to say past American policy was misguided because it had “shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive,” an obvious rebuke of former President Bush. The president made these highly critical comments of his own country on foreign soil in an effort to “rebuild” the transatlantic relationship between the United States and Europe by offering an olive branch.
Paul at Powerline has 4 theories as to why President Obama has such an affinity for bashing Americans when he hits the road — though I think it’s nothing more than the fact that Michelle and Obama are racist elitists who hate and look down at average Americans. And in Michelle’s case, especially average white Americans.
Paul’s four theories are:
- Bashing American from foreign soil is just something Democrats do.
- Obama is once again trying to shift blame for his own failures onto President Bush.
- Obama just doesn’t like the America that existed prior to January 20 of this year, and isn’t afraid to say so.
- Obama’s American bashing is the product of his giant-but-fragile ego.
As Paul concludes, these theories are not mutually exclusive.

If Barack Obama’s other orifice could speak, what would he say?(parody) BHO Taileprompter
Hiya,
I think this is a dog-bites-man story. The idea of a president bashing his countryman just seems, I don’t know, baseless from the jump. Why would anyone aspire to, run for, and execute the land’s highest office if they didn’t have it in their heart?
I don’t think Bush was in it for oil revenue, and I don’t think Obama is in it for any of Paul’s points above–especially the giant-but-fragile ego angle. I think Paul could make some more cutting observations than that one.
Best,
Tom
Tom,
I sorta disagree. I think the Obamas and many of their comrades on the far left (and yes, Obama is on the FAR left) don’t like America. They have their own vision for America that is considerably different than it not only exists today, but has always existed. So Obama feels very comfortable criticizing America and Americans “as it”, because they do find it lacking.
[...] Democrat who says anything conservatives don’t like is raked over the coals whenever those comments are made “on foreign soil“? Well, I would expect that when a fellow Republican [...]
Isnt it obvious that Obama is not a patriot , but an enemy of the USA. His desire is to bankrupt and destroy our country. If people cannot see this and put a stop to it, then we will get what we deserve. We must rally together and put an end to this tearny before it is too late !!
[...] America on foreign soil” has been a meme of the right which has attacked Democrats whenever an ill word was spoken overseas, so I wonder if that same [...]
