Gov. Schwarzenegger Spins Election Loss

It took an overwhelming defeat of (more) tax-and-spend liberal policies from RINO Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to see the light of Conservative policy.

Arnold is claiming that now he gets it…

WASHINGTON (AP) – California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday he’s heard “loud and clear” a voter message to take care of deficits through budget cuts alone, without passing additional costs along to them.

Voters on Tuesday resoundingly rejected Schwarzenegger’s package of budget-balancing measures that he promised would temporarily fix the state’s financial crisis.

Instead, he now faces a $21.3 billion budget deficit.

Schwarzenegger said the state’s residents have had to sell off motorcycles, second cars and hold garage sales to make ends meet in recent months. Now, they’re telling state officials that the government has to shrink, too.

Way to try to spin it, Arnie. If you haven’t already asked Obama about a Cabinet position or an ambassadorship (I hear Austria is nice this time of year) — now might be a good time to look into that.

But here’s what I really wanted to comment on from Obama’s speech, where he promises to make unpopular cuts:

He said cuts will certainly come in education, health care and in prisons by transferring undocumented immigrants to federal facilities and transferring more non-violent offenders to local jails. He plans to meet with state lawmakers in the afternoon to discuss the state’s options.

Here’s an idea that will save even more money — instead of “transferring undocumented immigrants” (also known as illegal aliens) to federal facilities…how about we transfer them back to Mexico?

They could be from Honduras, El Salvador, or Egypt for all I care. I don’t care if they’re not from Mexico. They’re not from here is all that I care about. Just dump them across the nearest border and let them worry about getting their illegal asses back to where they are legal.

  1. A month ago, they raised the sales tax. And they have raised the fees and penalties on everything. They are so out of proportion it is embarrassing. They’ve raised all the city and county taxes and the taxes on utilities that the government owns. A year ago, they raised the taxes on telephone bills. And they raised state taxes. The people in California pay the highest state and local taxes while the state continues to go down the toilet. Why? Because they won’t fucking stop spending. Raising taxes never decreases the deficit because they only spend even more. That’s nuts. And the increased taxes = less revenue coming in because businesses downscale or move to Nevada or Arizona. He’s the idiot that saddled us with $3 billion for stem cell research. What a waste!

  2. I don’t believe for a moment that Ahnold gets it, he is most likely seething behind gritted teeth, after the returns came in.
He, and all the other liberal money grubbers blame the ballot, not their thievish ways.
The La-La Times sums it up, it’s the voters fault that the state is in a mess. I would agree, except for a different reason, the fact that it is their fault they elected such pathetic creatures into their state legislature, not by voting down more taxes.
I see a liberal reprisal, by cutting jobs in law enforcement, firemen, state prison workers, and releasing more inmates.

  3. I have friends in CA who feel themselves to be trapped. They would love to move away, but can’t sell their houses because of the current situation regarding housing prices there.
