The Budget Cuts California Should be Making

California and its failed liberal policies are a model for the impending Obama Plan for America.

As Don Surber puts it, “Years of carefree spending on “social justice” created a dependency in good times that led to a cold turkey withdrawal in bad times.”

Or, as we like to say around here: the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money to spend.

Voters, finally tired of the tax-and-spend (repeat as often as necessary) fiscal policy of California, told Governor Schwarzenegger and the California Legislature to pound sand when they voted against allowing the state to raise taxes even higher to pay for their ever expanding liberal programs.

And now the chickens are coming home to roost as California is doing what they should have been doing all along — cutting spending.

In this case, drastically.

From the Mercury News I read that one of these drastic cuts includes this:

Undocumented immigrants would lose nonemergency health care.

Here’s a way that California could radically reduce their spending while not affecting the legal tax paying and voting citizens of their state:

Reduce ALL entitlement programs for ALL illegal immigrants living in California. Including to their children.

That means to welfare for illegals. No subsidized housing. No in-state tuition breaks. No health care, and no public schools for their kids.

It is estimated that services to illegals cost the state between $20-25 billion/year. If I were 100% in charge of California’s purse strings, I would immediately cut these entitlement programs and then go from there.
